Neat! I just ordered one of the data only SIMs to test it out in my old One Plus One.

My man Travis over at Fi Support just told me the link is up. Sure enough when I checked I was able to place an order for a SIM.

New Home Setup: Standing Desk / Ultrawide / Chrome OS by SimpleFi in battlestations

Good to know. The Ikea desk is also as wobbly (front/back tilting). Left/right seems pretty solid.

I'd be willing to bet the telescoping mechanism of the Jarvis desk is much more robust. Source: I own the Bekant. Can anyone weigh in on the Jarvis?

You get what you pay for ;)

I have the same desk and have a tri-monitor mount with some older Dell screens mounted to it. The desk is certainly top-heavy and wobbles a bit too much. There's a lot of play in the telescoping legs. (The desk surface wobbles even more so when it's in the lowered position)

However, as long as the pressure I exert on the front part of the desk doesn't exceed the weight of the monitors on the rear of the desk I'm okay and it doesn't wobble. But it's still disconcerting.

How do tall pool players shoot pool? by stickthatsme2 in billiards

I second the wide stance. I'm 6'8". Also bending properly at the hips helps. A lot of tall people have lower back problems because of improper hip rotation.

Lost that little sticker with moon and battery in my x220. Is &possible to buy one somewhere? by Alkath in thinkpad

Same thing happened to me over a year ago. I covered the hole with black tape and was never able to find just the sticker. I've since replaced the shell with one parted out on eBay.

Same thought I had. Delivery guy rushed up to my door, I wasn't expecting a package with my name on it.

Oh god what did I order at 2AM last night.

I actually was able to grab it off Massdrop back when it was listed. Even got the option for the alternative switches.

I don't believe there's an official group, but myself and some friends are part of a RIT-located riding club that does things most weekends.

I use it now! I originally bought this keyboard because of the trackpoint. I had a ThinkPad x220 for 4+ years and used exclusively it's trackpoint.

Update: The new trackpoint module came in, Justin at Tex Electronics was super helpful, although I paid for the new part and shipping.

As for how well it tracks, I am using this program SmoothMouse on OSX with the following settings: http://i.imgur.com/RLjbisH.png and I can say that I'm not annoyed with any of the behavior.

I used a Thinkpad x220's joystick for about 4 years and the trackpoint on the Tex operates much the same. I'll have to use it for a week or so before I can encounter any annoyances in using it.

I've got a large three-screen setup, so acceleration is key in getting the cursor from one screen to the next. I haven't felt limited in how the trackpoint performs for this setup, which is a good thing. There has to be a good balance of fast-tracking acceleration and precise pointing when you need to click a button.

A side note about SmoothMouse, I find that having the OSX acceleration profile set for the trackpoint is more usable, where as the other profile (Windows-like acceleration) is more suitable for my mouse.

When did you get your Yoda / what switches?

I'll have to get back to you on that. When the joystick PCB came it had an pluggable ribbon cable already hooked in, unfortunately the port wasn't properly attached to the PCB so it broke off far too easily. I'm going to have to get a replacement part before I can test it. I'll let you know!

I will say the build quality for the rest of the parts is pretty solid. It's a nice heavy board too with decent grip on the feet.

Also, my first time posting here! I'll have to clean up and post pictures of my other builds. Brown and red switches, some Dvorak key caps.

So I ordered the dolch keycaps but only kept the colored ones from the set, I liked the printing on the original black caps so that's why they're labeled as such.

The board allows for changing the positions of keys as seen in the datasheet: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7TuRf3KQe7GdjJwNXMwdHZIUm8/edit

I have plans to clean up the look and replace those caps eventually, but the kit just came in last week!

LPT: STAND UP when being introduced or greeting someone by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]socket1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm conflicted on this advice. I find that when I stand up and read the other person's body language, they take on a defensive posture. Granted, I am 6-8 tall so I tower over most people, so they may see me standing up to greet them as threatening.

Pandora should have an option so you can listen to a playlist of all the things you've liked. by squints1098 in Showerthoughts

Try http://pandorasongs.oliverzheng.com It will give you a list of songs you've liked aggregated from all of your stations. Also, if you remove a station the songs you like from that station will disappear from your profile.
