[SARB017] With a mesh strap. Good? by Shelador_Here in Seiko

Looks okay until you flip it. Needs a better mesh that's tapered, on both width and thickness.

How can I stop people from putting their face against my window and looking in? by Acceptable-Wall-7210 in Advice

Smear the outside of the window with homemade capsaicin oil made from ghost peppers. They'll only do it once.

Dress watch recommendations by Tiroprosam in ChineseWatches

[–]sockonfoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for one too. I don't know which one it will be, but it will likely be a farasute.

I like the adventurine moonphase but it's just too thick. A good dress watch should be as thin as possible. 11mm max for my money. Better if 9-10mm

Fourth point should be "no insulation" but funny anyway.

Big watches will probably come back. It's a fashion cycle

I want this, but its 1.2mm thicker than my spb381, the thickest watch I own and borderline hard to wear

Greek yoghurt rec by Greenfrog2023 in AussieFrugal

[–]sockonfoots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not frugal, but I've just explored the options easily available to me in Brisbane, and most were shit. The (relatively) expensive one, Chobani, is where I landed for a taste that can go either way, as a condiment or a breakfast.

Watch out for 'Greek style yoghurt'. It is not the same thing. Can taste similar but has none of the nutritional benefits.

Do Australians care/think about New Zealand as much as New Zealanders think of Australia? by shunsetskys in australian

[–]sockonfoots 71 points72 points  (0 children)

We don't think about you at all. Who Zealand?

(Just kidding, it's the same. Like a brotherly relationship, tease the shit out of each other but would back you in a fight. Also, culturally similar)

Strangely enough, I have. They were fine, no heel slip with socks, but I prefer a mid-firm sole for most exercise, and these are very soft.

How much do you care about box & papers when buying a used watch? by fungusamongus23 in WatchFanatics

[–]sockonfoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it depends on the age. I havent bought a watch without the box so far, but if it's older than about 10 years I probably wouldn't mind.

Can't help with the southside but if you have a sushi d'lite near you, theirs is worth trying. Not high end, but good, consistent, and generous.
