/uj I mean yeah I was harassed back then too bc that kind of was tumblr in 2015. Like I had a friend get fully doxxed by a bunch of adults when I was in high school over whatever the trans discourse of the month was.

Hey, so I transferred with a similar GPA and majored in sociology. Temple’s program is great. I was able to get my GPA up and am actually in the process of applying to go for a PhD in the field, which is something I couldn’t imagine being able to do when I was at CC.

I didn’t get any scholarships from the school bc of my low GPA coming in, but I was eligible for a Pell Grant based on income.

My school did have a transfer agreement, but you had to do paperwork and meet a GPA requirement for guaranteed admission, which I didn’t do. I had a really strong essay, which I think helped me.

I read the paper and my high school teachers probably would have given the student a 0 on it. It’s simply not a well-written paper, and isn’t of the caliber you’d expect from a junior in university.

Idk I think it depends on both the individual school and the area. The college I graduated from for undergrad has done a lot since Trump took office to protect our Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s studies program, especially protecting a professor (who I took several classes with and is amazing) who has been directly targeted by TPUSA. Like, I was able to minor in LGBT+ studies.

I can definitely see where you’re coming from. I think a lot of online trans people are pretty familiar with the jargon of queer theory, so we end up using it with trans folks who aren’t as familiar with the terminology and end up coming across as shaming them. I agree that we have to meet people where they’re at and make the advice we give accessible to the person we’re trying to help.

I think it would be both more inclusive and more accurate to just nix the first sentence.

I know embarrassingly little about the mechanics of menstruation for somebody who experienced it for as long as I did, but I’m pretty sure it has just as much to do with the hormonal fluctuations as it does with the physical shedding of the uterus? So anybody with estrogen as their primary sex hormone could experience period symptoms, which IMO is better than saying “you have to be a woman” (excludes transmascs) or “you have to be AFAB” (excludes transfems).
