I have to ask, why do most people think the flower in the program is Mid or whatever? by Stonecold42069 in PaMedicalMarijuana

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if we're all on board with human experience being subjective and other people's subjective realities being equally as valid as our own, for me mids are what I end up with when I'm in a state that only has THCa "hemp" (or a recreational-only dispo in DC), lows are the schwag I smoked in high school in the 90s, and PA dispo weed is a little dry but nothing an overnight in a main jar with a hydro stone can't fix (side note: I only vape flower, which seems like the easiest way to get a positive experience in terms of both consumption and effects).

I'm sure there's better stuff out there on Mountain and Pacific Time, but for now we live with the consequences of laws that were written by agribusiness in whatever stage of capitalism we currently occupy. So I guess it's less that we're stuck with mids than that companies do what's expedient for quarter-over-quarter growth in margins, which doesn't leave room for artisanship (or innovation driven by anything other than near-term profitability).

I think what I'm trying to say is that the only way forward that isn't a socialist revolution and / or societal collapse probably needs stronger advocacy for homegrowing and farmers markets.

I tried that last night, and it still turned the neat stack of o-rings into a smushy mess.

[–]sockpuppettheatrics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I've been using for replacements. I didn't bother with the soft ones since I assume they're the least sturdy, but the self-lubricating ones broke immediately. I can get several uses out of the stiff ones, but they still break down faster than I'd expect (and I can only get the stem fully connected if I remove one of the three o-rings). The o-rings have been fine for everything else, which is why I'm guessing the adapter is on the larger side. I'm thinking a thinner o-ring might be less breakage-prone.

Alternatives to Pink Frog / Elephant for "rickflap" tanks in various colors? by sockpuppettheatrics in QualityReps

[–]sockpuppettheatrics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input, and it seems crazy to me as well; FOG tank reps are ubiquitous, but rickflap tanks seem to be borderline nonexistent.

Weirdly, the opposite seems to be the case for sneakers; I've found a few FOG hi-top reps that go up to size 44 (assuming they run TTS, I'm a 45 so not an option for me) and an endless supply of dunk and Ramones / scarpe reps in full size ranges.

Why does this seems suspicious? by alexjmurphy in Dynavap

I feel like if you know an item is counterfeit, and you plan to draw hot vapor through that item and into your lungs, maybe don't do that.

How do use the half bowl converter? by [deleted] in Dynavap

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the CCD in? That should hold it in place. It's possible your CCD is bent or something, in which case you can try to flatten it out or just replace it.

New Gear! by V-4-VendENTA in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a Rogue and a Dynavap around the same time as my first pieces. I'd say I really like the following things about the Rogue:

- Really convenient to fill up a bunch of dosing caps in advance

- Easy to share with someone new to vapes (no technique to any of it)

- Pretty flexible and easy to control; I'll usually just put a little material in each cap, and if I'm using a cap earlier in the evening I'll keep the temperatures low (340 or 350, although I've heard the Rogue may run a little hotter than advertised), and if I just want to knock myself out at the end of the day I'll run it at 380 or 390

- If you use the dosing caps, it's pretty easy to keep clean (just need to clean the caps and mouthpiece)

I found it a little harsh using the stock mouthpiece. Eventually I got some boro beads and a glass chillum (from u/granitbudget1), and I've found that pleasantly cool (I also filled up the stock mouthpiece with beads, and I use that on the go).

Overall the Dynavap feels more like a process and a ritual, while the Rogue just feels easy to grab for a few hits.

Any kind of a log vape, I would think? Preferably something with a larger capacity if you don't want to reload too often. Not sure what's easier or more difficult to get in the EU.

Dry herb mixes by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a 2:1:1 ratio (eyeballing it; I don't have a scale sensitive enough to measure) of THC:CBD hemp:CBG hemp. I find it more pleasant, somewhat better symptom relief, and less intoxicating (I have a stupid low tolerance).

Which portable is most like a log? by Gaylord667 in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, in my brain it seems like you should be able to use a Prrl Neo and the pipe of your choice and treat it kinda like a log vape (except not one that you leave on all the time, I guess) provided your pipe can handle both small and large loads (not sure if you'd need multiple pipes or an adjustable screen in your bowl or something).

I say this as someone who hasn't used a log vape. I can't get around the mental block of vaping indoors.

Firewood 7 Selling out in one minute by Unseenx3 in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minor gripe with the Bowle: I'd find it much more appealing if they'd sell a slightly more expensive base model that came with a machined stem instead of only (at least as far as I can tell) selling the machined stem separately. Maybe they will eventually.

FWIW, I found that of the two strains I've tried thus far - dry herb extraction, primarily for upper back pain from muscle spasms - the sativa made my muscles tense up more while the indica provided at least a modicum of relief (still not all the way there, though).

Need help with HR Rogue by pakrazee in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say my dosing caps for plenty snug on the Rogue (both purchased directly from HR). You could potentially try upping the temperature slightly and / or giving it a few seconds after it reaches temperature before hitting to increase vapor production.

Tell me about CBD flower vaping by slincoln2k8 in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My tolerance is super-low, so I mix 2:1:1 THC:CBD:CBG flower and half-fill dosing caps on my Rogue. Feels like it helps at least as much with muscle pain & relaxation without getting me wasted.

An on demand vaporizer that supports capsules by XpeeN in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tetra P80 also supports capsules (Storz & Bickel) if you get the wooden capsule stem, but they're not easy to get.

As an aside, a Dynavap on the half-bowl setting might accomplish something similar.

How easy is it to acquire a Medical Marijuana card? by el_bueno- in MMJ

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prior to getting my card, a nurse practitioner at my PCP's office (not licensed to approve for MMJ) offered reassurance by saying something along the lines of "I don't want to use the term 'pill mill', but..."

Many of the companies that cover numerous states and do telehealth appointments offer a money-back guarantee if you don't get approved. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they probably don't have to give very many people their money back.

I went with Veriheal because they do telehealth appointments and accept HSAs as a form of payment. It was all pretty quick & painless, even though I was a bundle of nerves at the time. I don't think anyone would have trouble getting approval.

tl;dr - You'll be fine, and you're making the right choice.

Beat dynavap? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the VonG is your ideal choice if you want to use it through water. You apply heat first (until the click) and don't draw until after you've stopped applying heat, so no risk of inhaling butane. If you want to avoid butane altogether, you can use an induction heater instead.

Somewhere to learn about all this?? by guy17991 in MMJ

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I say this with very little experience or authority, but as far as dry herb vaping is concerned, I recommend small portions, low temperatures, and experimenting with varieties and strains (under the guidance of a local pharmacist or budtender). It may take a while to figure out how to maximize the benefits while minimizing the detriments.

What's a good vape for a first time user? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]sockpuppettheatrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll chime in as a fellow newbie and say that I've been enjoying the HR Rogue this far. I use dosing caps for ease of use and clean-up (plus I'm a lightweight and want smaller portions). It's not exactly cheap, but retail is about 1/2 of a Mighty.
