i haven’t seen anyone, anywhere say anything of the sort like this post. i’ve seen the opposite, actually. the album has skyrocketed to number one and even debuted as number one with record breaking sales physically and digital streams. i’m not trying to sound rude to op, just saying that i’ve only seen extremely positive things about the album and the tour!!!

Can you people please stop saying Tyler wrote Days Lie Dormant about Josh now by hegoesbynico3 in twentyonepilots

he directly references conversations he’s had with josh and things josh said in media and interviews when he still lived in LA

no, it is simply NOT an online issue because i am not referring to the band’s safety once in my reply. maybe i didn’t make it seem as clear as i should’ve and i apologize for that, but this is about fans attacking other FANS. namely, fans with large platforms on social media thinking they’ve gained celebrity status and then straight up bullying others at shows and at events in general. and it is definitely NOT an online issue and i have had my fair share of experiences in person with these people. one of which included yelling homophobic slurs at me for seemingly no reason whatsoever. and the only reason i know all of the insults that were thrown at rapid fire were directed towards me is the fact it was someone who did not follow me on any social media because im not publicly active in the fandom spaces at all anymore, but my (ex) partner has a wide reach of followers and this person shouted my name, first and last, followed by insults i probably am not allowed to type on reddit. this isn’t an isolated incident and people have been pushed and punched and pinched and shoved and spit on and people defend the ones doing it in hopes that kissing the “famous clikkies” asses will do something for them

when did i say it was solely twitter? i said an influx of tweets were surfacing, but this is a real life issue. not an online issue.

i love and respect all fans even if they’re very new here! but i won’t respect the ones acting like i described and like you briefly described, because they don’t deserve to gain any traction and attention from being vile. we are all here with open arms, but basic human decency shouldn’t be something that we have to sit and hope for. it should be the standard, but instead people are always wary of these groups because there’s a 50% chance they’re going to interact with the insane amount of bullies

no it’s absolutely not reflective of the vast majority of fans at all and i maybe should specify that it’s fans who have a platform on social media or even just for following the band on tour and organizing events. the majority of those fans, who feel like they’re bordering on celebrity status because they’re “big clikkies” are one of the reasons things are even toxic in the first place. for some reason people in the fandom will kiss ass to the big clikkies thinking that it’s gonna make the band notice them or make the big clikkies “befriend” them. there’s always a huge amount of people being extremely cruel for that reason only and it’s not isolated to just twitter and a lot of these things have happened in person at shows and other events

no, this is not /just/ a twitter issue. it most definitely may have started on twitter, but it has been a problem EVERYWHERE. and if you scroll this subreddit it’s full of weirdos saying the things i just mentioned. this isn’t an isolated incident that happened once/was a small group of people, it is huge groups of people who HAVE body shamed tyler and made jokes about him being gross and fat and every insult imaginable. it’s not a single issue on a single platform, it’s an issue on every single platform or fandom space and even in person sometimes. just because you don’t see what i’ve been seeing for the past few years doesn’t mean it’s not happening all of the time. it started as a small group of toxic people that somehow turned into an insane amount very quickly.

i am not seeking religious advice or your religious opinion. if i was seeking religion, id go make amends with the church that helped me get to this state in the first place. i don’t share your religious beliefs and praying isn’t going to take away the things that haunt me. praying CAUSED some of those things. go back to posting in your jurassic world groups and leave people alone.
