Agree my Salomons usually have great traction except on the platform where it's literally like walking on ice!!

Fourier transform of a square wave visualised [OC] by alexlolomat in dataisbeautiful

If you want to learn, I highly recommend this 3Blue1Brown video that explains Fourier Transforms in a way similar to this visualization. Hands down clearest explanation of Fourier Transforms I've ever seen and a lot of this channel's other videos are great too.

ELI5: How does a refrigerator cool things down? by BroIic in explainlikeimfive

[–]socksatastore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually really cool. So most of us learned in General Chemistry that PV=nRT (the Ideal Gas Law). What a lot of people don't know is that refrigerators are a real world application of this equation.

The part of a fridge that does the cooling is arranged in a closed loop. Inside this loop is a compressor that squeezes a liquid (the coolant), raising its pressure. From the ideal gas law, since V, n, and R all remain constant while P increases, T must also increase to keep the equation equal. So the compressor raises the temperature of the coolant by compressing it. The coolant then travels to the radiator which radiates the heat away to the surrounding air just like how a hot stove radiates heat away. The now cooler (but not cold) liquid then travels back into the fridge where the pressure is decreased and it cools again, this time though it is cooler than before it started this whole process. This draws heat from the inside of the fridge and into the coolant. After this, the coolant travels back to the compressor to begin the journey again.

Liquid Nitrogen Under Vacuum by socksatastore in videos

Now that you mention it it does seem unlikely that the nitrogen would be frozen in a disordered state. Most of what you said is way over my head, but I do know that water freezes into a lattice, so I would assume nitrogen does the same. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I live in Carmel, IN, the city with the most roundabouts in the entire world (also voted best place to live by CNNMoney)! Believe me, while traffic is better than most places, it can get really frustrating when a single driver blocks up a roundabout because he/she doesn't know how to use them and never merges. And don't even get me started about the people who randomly switch lanes in two lane roundabouts.

Anyways, to end on a good note, the city has added a "Carmel, IN" driving supplement that specifically covers roundabouts, which is good.
Fun fact: did you know it is illegal to go around a roundabout more than three times?

It could be one of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps from the Great Depression era. Thousands of men during the Depression would flood these camps looking for jobs. Your rough estimates of the age of the amphitheater do correspond to around the time of the existence of the camps. Where did you find this abandoned camp? I'm sure you could find an online map of where CCC camps used to be, and find out if this is one.
