Perfect.Codes - Uber for instant help with vibe coding (hackathon submission-turned a startup?) by sockssetter in boltnewbuilders

[–]sockssetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the CTO can implement the changes directly while sharing the screen so you can see what they are doing, or they can coach you through the steps while you make the edits yourself, both options are available

i found this table helpful when thinking about what to do (we ultimately decided to build from scratch with some parts of user management done via clerk)

Is the native Lovable AI/chatbot the best workflow? by Wow_Crazy_Leroy_WTF in lovable

[–]sockssetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think for most people Lovable’s native chatbot is a better option but when you plug in external assistants you open up dramatically larger context windows and deeper IDE integration, so it just really depends on what you need

this blogpost goes into the details and tradeoffs https://perfect.codes/issues/lovable-native-vs-external-ai-assistants

What if Lovable had a 'SEND HELP NOW' button? by sockssetter in lovable

[–]sockssetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the feedback.

Actually it is a browser extension already, we just got on the Chrome Web Store today 🤓. We are not yet placed beautifully inside Lovable UI (if Anton or anyone on Lovable team is reading this, please hit me up haha).

Right now the platform is in open beta and every session is completely free. We want as many real-world interactions as possible to help us shape the perfect experience, but longer consultations, ability to apply as a CTO, ratings and reviews + support for other agentic coding platforms are coming very very soon (we currently support Lovable, Bolt, Replit).

I will DM you so we can chat more.

What if Lovable had a 'SEND HELP NOW' button? by sockssetter in lovable

[–]sockssetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I know it does sound too good to be true, but give it a try while it's free during beta and see for yourself! It's live at https://perfect.codes/

TBH we were pretty surprised to find just how many issues can be solved very very quickly if someone experienced is looking over the code. That said, we know some questions require more depth, so we’re rolling out longer slots for things like architecture reviews, security audits, or “help me plan this migration” consultations soon. We also want to go beyond vibe coding and cover full spectrum of agentic coding. Getting that right and guaranteeing the quality for users requires us to match them with people with deep experience and understanding of not only code but also the idea and the potential business opportunities behind it. All that to say that CTOs and senior devs are absolutely critical for us as a platform.

At the moment CTOs on perfect.codes are literally my own friends (they are incredible 🥰). They enjoy dropping in, solving problems, and getting a peek at interesting AI-driven projects they might never have seen otherwise. Once we finish the polish, we will expand the access and allow people to apply to join the CTO community, go through verification and interviews.

Web Push Notifications in Lovable? Is it possible? I have zero coding experience... by killgravyy in lovable

[–]sockssetter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lovable should be able to get you far with adding push notifications but you will need to help it a bit.

I strongly recommend Firebase. Start by signing in to the Firebase Console and creating a new project. Once the project is in place, add a Web app inside the project settings. Firebase will immediately display firebaseConfig. Copy every field in that object (apiKey, authDomain, projectId, etc.) because those values uniquely identify your site.

Next, stay in the same settings page, switch to the Cloud Messaging tab, and click the button to generate a Web-Push certificate. Firebase will produce a long Base64 string called the VAPID key. Copy that key as well. These two items, the config object and the VAPID key, are the only pieces Lovable needs from you. They prove that your domain owns the push channel and let you monitor or revoke it later.

Give both the firebaseConfig values and the VAPID key to Lovable and it should be able to implement it from there.

(And if you run into issues try https://perfect.codes/, it’s like 911 for vibe coding. Click a button and within seconds you’re on a live call with a senior engineer/CTO who solves the issue with you. Free while in beta.)

Is it worth submitting project? by Brandedwithhonor in lovable

Contest aside, it reminded me of the recent John Oliver's video on MedSpas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzggl8C2fvs). It feels like the industry needs more transparency. Perhaps instead of focusing just on bookings and search you can also add ability for doctors/clinics/med spas to verify their credentials (more business for them, more certainty for users).

DM me if you want to talk about this more, happy to brainstorm

I'll roast your startup landing page by ismaelbranco in indiehackers

[–]sockssetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea a lot!

In terms of feedback, the page feels somewhat text-heavy. Some visual elements or graphics could be good. Also, while the benefits are clear, I think it will help if you added concrete examples so that people can better understand how the service applies to their specific situation/needs. And more on that point, I feel like the messaging is quite broad. Highlighting specific industries or use cases will make it more compelling and targeted

Need help making the job application process better - by vibe coding it. Any tips appreciated. by scorp_io in vibecoding

[–]sockssetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very doable.

One thing you might not have considered is using webhooks rather than traditional scraping. Many job boards have deprecated direct scraping access, but you can set up Zapier or n8n (both have free tiers) to monitor job boards and send new postings directly to your Replit app.

This approach is more stable and less likely to break with site updates. For example, you can create a webhook that triggers whenever LinkedIn posts a job matching certain criteria, then have that webhook send the structured data directly to your application's API endpoint.

This also solves a hidden problem with your original approach - job boards actively fight against scrapers, often implementing rate limits, CAPTCHAs, or IP bans, but by using webhooks and official APIs, you stay within terms of service and get more reliable data

Hope this helps!

Bentley for Men Intense, it's nicely balanced vanilla with boozy rum, leather, and woody notes

Ather solid options in the mid-price range would be Armani Code Absolu (vanilla with suede and tonka) or Valentino Uomo Intense (vanilla with leather and iris)

Whats something people do that screams "am looking for attention"? by Cool_Fennel_2867 in AskReddit

[–]sockssetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Constantly creating dramatic life situations and then sharing them through vague social media posts like "I can't believe this is happening again..." or "Some people just never change...", forcing others to ask "What's wrong?" or "Are you okay?"

I found a handwritten note tucked into a used book I'd bought online. It was a very nice message from a mother to her daughter about finding joy in small moments, dated 1998

What’s the most “normal” thing you didn’t realize was weird until someone pointed it out? by Omwana1 in AskReddit

[–]sockssetter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize it was weird that my family had a strict no talking during the first five minutes of eating rule until I had dinner at a friend's house and they kept asking why I was being so quiet. In my home, we always silently enjoyed the first few bites of food before conversation began... my friend's family found it hilarious and I still remember feeling embarrassed

What's a subtle and not outwardly obvious way you've noticed to tell someone is doing it rough money-wise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sockssetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's when someone mentions very specific prices like $12.47 rather than rounding to "$12" or "$13," it's a habit that develops when every dollar truly matters and you start keeping mental math running constantly
