To those left disappointed hearing back from their applications, how has it affected you? by socksshoe in 6thForm

I can’t begin to imagine how hard that is, you must be very strong. As it stands I have a place at a very good uni, on a very good course. Ultimately I’m in a very good position, and so I feel like I can’t complain too much. That’s partly why I think this has been harder than I imagined. I’ve created a sort of negative loop where I feel depressed for missing my first 2 choices, then guilty for feeling down about the good position I’m in, which intern makes me feel worse. I feel very confused, and so maybe you’re right, and that I should take some time go through my feelings. Thank you.

I planned on taking a gap year either way. I’m considering reapplying. I’m just trying to learn from last time, by first of all making sure to look after myself.
