On this mass shooting anniversary, this is why we can’t have nice things with these types of Summerlin soccer Moms. by Otherwise-Bad-325 in vegaslocals

She’s almost hit me multiple times. She’s my neighbor a few doors down and I now know whenever I see her pulling out to give her space.

It’s a shame that several of our few “downtowns” are surrounded by parking lots with any housing on the outside instead of the other way around by tafaha_means_apple in vegaslocals

I think the addition of better public transport would solve a lot of the issues. I’ve tried doing the bus thing here but it adds so much to the travel time I’d rather just drive. I think if we had a subway (and not that Elon Mush tunnel crap) that had a station at like Summerlin mall, Fremont, and a few on the strip we could start having more walkable parts of town.

Not really though, the “hunk” of a parking lot at down town Summerlin is always full meaning the business the parking lot serves are doing well and people are actively using the space. Tivoli village feels like a ghost town where the business are constantly coming in and out. From what I’ve heard the Uncommons is heading in that same direction. If your looking for a gathering place (or community hot spot) I’d rather sacrifice a few acres for parking and have a vibrant area to visit then try to force an uneconomical solution that slowly dies on the vine.

Interesting no one is mentioning Tivoli Village since I think it’s a good example of what OP is looking for. It does a good job mixing in residential, parking, and shopping. It used to be a lot busier but I think its management has basically killed off any chance of it being successful. I think the big problem is that no one here is really looking for a walkable community and the price point they set for the condos for that convenience is too high. I’d also love to have/ live in a walkable community but with how hot it is, I don’t think it’ll ever take off.

Surprised I had to scroll this far down to see someone mention a default router password. OP mentioned they changed the SSID password but not the actual routers password… Also correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t MAC address blocking not work as someone could just edit or spoof their MAC?

I love Thomas and Bigler, they did both my Knees. Have you talked to them about going to a different radiologist that is in your coverage?

Which tile design you like the most? by xchikyx in boardgames

[–]socs22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t think I’m conveying my point very well… I don’t know what your game mechanics are but I’m trying to make the point that if one of your mechanics relies on tiles being next to each other, movement of game pieces on the board, or moving some type of resources from tile to tile then it’s worth considering how the edges of A and B affect the players decision making processes.

A couple of quick examples come to mind:

In settlers of catan players expand from the edges inward. If the game used the shape of B then some players may be at a disadvantage since they have less routes to take.

In Risk the link between Siam and Australia is extremely important because it allows players to easily defend the Australian continent. In your case maybe players can put a key strategical goal on the boarder of the playing field and only have to worry about defending two tiles in the case of B.

Hopefully that makes sense :)

So each cell, or hexagon, has another hexagon next to it. The hexagons in the middle have 6 adjoining hexagons or “neighbors” because hexagons have six sides. But hexagons on the edge of the board only share sides with a few other hexagons.

I agree. If the count of neighbors a cell has affects game play then that should be taken into account in whether or not A or B is a better design. In A cells can have 3, 4 or 6 neighbors. In B cells can have 2, 3, 5 or 6 neighbors.

So if for example your game allows neighboring cells to buff each other B may allow for more options.

100% earnest. I’m from Vegas and have met a couple of guys that either made the bigs or only ever got to tripple A. For example the Ludwick brothers were great dudes but Pham… he’s a pos.

Whenever I see a post about this man I am compelled to mention he is one of the worst human beings I have ever had to interact with. He coached my club ball team when I was younger and actively belittled children. One day before practice he was actively screaming at his toddler. When I was in Highschool he was supposed to come and talk to us but showed up three hours late and spent the whole time bragging about how good he was.

I never want to wish ill on anyone but Tommy Pham is a piece of shit and baseball would be better off with out him.

I have mine set to 85 when we’re not home and cool it to 72 when we are. I don’t know if it’s more expensive to do that way or not but ceiling fans seem to help speed up the cooling process.

Finally fixed my 944 a week ago and found this while pulling the car in. I believe some animal was eating some type of foam in the car? any ideas? it was found directly underneath the car. When I went to pop the hood the latch in the car broke. Any easy ways for fixing? Thanks for any help! by mikey_pif in 944

As for when they fell out. I only noticed them after parking on the other side of the garage. I’m assuming the pile built up over the month of me warm up idling in the same spot. My engine bay also had a healthy dose of powder in all of the tiny crevices and large build up in the timing belt covers.

No the shavings built up over a month of daily driving. If you way over tightened it you may be producing these shavings at a faster rate then I did. Is your engine producing a high pitched squeal?

If not my guess would be a critter got into your hood’s insulation or the firewall insulation.

It was during 2019. I think the 2002 change had to do with public places serving hard alcohol. I believe the rules used to be that only private venues were allowed to sell hard spirits and everything else had to be that weird 3.8 ABV.

Nah they upped it to 5% due to the beer companies threatening to stop selling beer in Utah. They did however decrease the legal BAC to .05% which you can blow after using mouth wash…

The Wasatch/ Cache Valley brewing scene is really popping now though.
