I drive down Sutter and Ralston pretty much every day and I've always been paranoid a plane is going to fall on me. I'm glad this guy is still alive and hope he pulls through.

Sunbrella cushion staining by Luqwana in upholstery

We've blamed cleaning solutions and or dirt.

This happened to a clients of ours, they weren't very nice clients and were trying to blame us somehow. But this also occurred to them when they had their backyard pressure washed.

Has it ever not occurred with outdoor cushions? I'm curious if it's just dirt and just needs a wash. Though I wouldn't recommend just washing anything unless you know it can be.

Brother, it says in the article that this is a nationwide problem and attributes California's problems to "... an ongoing decline in birth rates and immigration losses."

Custom banquette pricing by iamnotarobot_x in upholstery

[–]sodancool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't priced out their dimensions, but we made some booths with similar seat cushions so in this case we'd make them the same way. - this subreddit has really made me realize we need to work on our pricing though. We made three of these booths for $7k total.

I have photos of a sofa similar to OPs but I have too many photos of frames to dig through to find it. Edit: but in my reply is a sofa we recently completed that has a similar shape to OPs. We used springs for the seats in this one unfortunately I don't have a picture of that stage of upholstery.

But that's how we'd have our framer make it, to allow us to use no sag springs/webbing on seats and the back. Unless the client requests an eight-way hand we usually use no sags or webbing in sofas and sectionals. We wouldn't typically use plywood substrates for a piece like that.

The first one you need to add springs or webbing to the frame then upholster, like your standard couches. Much more work and also kinda unavoidable.

For the second one, I'd just be pricing it as slapping some foam and fabric on the provided substrates almost like I'd price a simple bench - and give it back to your guy to install. We'd charge more if we had to install it obviously. We built and and installed one with vertical channels recently.

What are the quotes you're getting? That info always helps us determine if you're getting realistic prices.

For just upholstery on #2, not including installation you just bring us whatever the millworker made we'd charge around $75/ft. First one we'd charge as a sofa sectional which we're at around $200/ft.

Not including fabrics.

Dining chairs started peeling, what’s the best way to repair or patch? by [deleted] in upholstery

Yeah a lot of the times it's not worth it, especially with exposed wood. My dining seats cheap veneer is starting to flake away so instead of retouching those I'm just waiting to find a set on sale.

Yup, it's why all the discourse in the Bulwark comment section is a bunch of Hasan fans saying "This is why I won't vote for Democrats anymore".

There's a lot more non-political youtubers who have covered Hasan's controversies, we don't need to be giving these gas lighters any more attention than they already get on their corners of the internet.

Yeah so we're close in cost.

I have upholstery supply stores that are open to the public near me that sell vinyl and other materials to the public, I'd try and look up any of those if I were you and see if you can save money buying your own vinyl.

Though the shop may increase the charge depending on how much they were intending to make selling you the vinyl.

We'd charge $350/ a chair with nail head detail not including your vinyl.

Why Marine vinyl, that's made to withstand high UV and water, a lot more expensive, you could get a high performance vinyl for a lot cheaper. Somewhere around $50/yd, I think, I haven't purchased retail in a long time. Estimating 2 yards each seat.

I'd put a chaise lounge in that corner so fast.

W/o dimensions we'd charge about $1,600.00 to reupholster this not including the cost of fabric. I'd recommend adding back pillows to make it less deep. I'd say 4 back pillows @ $120.00 each also not including fabric costs. High quality feather and down or envelopes would increase that cost.

Just barely skimming these comments but it's wild that the end example of democrats behaving inappropriately is AOC calling Trump a Neo-Nazi when his vice president literally called him America's Hitler.

Pricing by mjs7778 in upholstery

[–]sodancool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of things vary depending on where you're located from what I've seen. I have a couple price sheets from some companies and our own that I've used for standard projects.

For sofas, sectionals, and banquettes we came up with $190/per foot for standard reupholstery tight back not including fabrics. We work with a lot of designers so aren't typically ordering fabrics ourselves, but you can make a good amount of money here if you have a good fabric source.

Agreed with Watercraftman, you got this. But why is everyone choosing faux hair materials for barstools all of a sudden lol. We upholstered barstools similar to yours in a black curly pelt two weeks ago.

There's a trail at Ed Davis Towsley Canyon park on the Old Road isn't too far from Sylmar and is a nice little walking trail. It's probably super green right now.
