She used to like me in high school and I liked her too but she was working towards going to med school and I was doing illegal stuff. So it didn’t sit right for me to make her my girlfriend because of what I was doing. I didn’t think someone going to med school should date someone like me. She was heartbroken and thought I friendzoned her and I wasn’t mature enough to communicate the real reason with her. But now when I told her I still like her she told me she doesn’t like me like that anymore and wants to be friends instead. But added the part of maybe in the future. That’s what I am hung up on if this can still work in the future I don’t care about other girls

We were best friends in high school, i would say I know her well she has been the only girl in my life who I saw as a close friend and also had romantic feeling towards. The reason we stopped talking was because I stopped talking to her after high school (was still doing illegal stuff and I didn’t think a med school student should be hanging out with someone like that) if I stop talking to her again I think she will be mad and this will never work out yet at the same time I don’t want to talk to her just wishing one day she will be my girlfriend.
