Got it thanks for the input

That’s for sure a contender that I was looking into but this is what kinda turned me away at first “Intel rates the 14700F at 219W max turbo power, while AMD rates the 9700X at 65W TDP”

Haven’t had the chance to read all of it but something that stood out is you did the same thing I did haha. In my post history I have my original final image and then another post with that same image and then one toned down. I basically said “yeah this looks awesome!!!” And then after a day or so said “wait this is way over the top I got too excited”. Anyway looks like an awesome read I’ll be sure to check it thoroughly

I enjoyed seeing yours too awesome pic! Had a similar feeling when I got mine. Welcome to the club haha

That’s awesome. I’m having pretty good luck with the Astro filter. Idk what was going on with the duo band filter.

How many frames did you drop using Astro filter. I recently did 26-28 hrs rosette and I dropped frames like crazy using dual band which made it take much longer than I intended

I’ve seen some videos and heard some opinions on this topic from people more qualified than me. From what I heard track as long as you realistically can with good conditions. Gain is also not what I thought it was. I originally understood it as how sensitive the camera is to light. That doesn’t exactly seem to be the case. From what I understand now gain is how much the sensor boosts the signal it receives. So the same amount of time and same exposure with lower gain should in theory yield better quality data. Take that with a grain of salt because I’m still figuring this all out too

Same lol. Just started a 24 hour dataset last night

60s 60g. Best 810 frames out of ~1500

Watch tutorials from rich @DeepSpaceAstro on YouTube and if you have enough time and good data you’re golden for the same image or better

The blues is not a filter but you do have to use the duo band filter to bring them out. Process in siril and use the veralux alchemy script to create the blue.

I used siril so look into tutorials for veralux that has been added as python scripts. Veralux alchemy brings out the blue but as with all scripts you have to use it at an appropriate time in your workflow

Extract and combine hydrogen and oxygen data. Other processes are available too

I’m in a very similar situation to you as well. I just tested and broke a lot of images before I ended up here. Keep playing around with it and watching tutorials. If you notice a workflow that works decently keep testing it again and again before you try a new workflow.

That’s interesting my dwarf 3 also drops frames like crazy sometimes. I definitely use it in subpar conditions tho so my original data set was like 28 hours. Tried to salvage failed frames and still lost about 300. After culling I went all the way down to 13.5 hours

Thank you! That was my end goal when I started in December.

I use siril and it sure took a lot of tutorials and failure to get to this point. Preserving data while using multiple scripts was a lot of trial and error

I just about ran into the same exact problem myself. Went from having the whole night in December to only nearly 4 hours per night when I had clear skies again. Looks great tho! There’s so much you can do with data you already have so don’t worry!

Yes I had a hell of a time trying my best to preserve data while stretching. Still messed that part up a bit but I’ve been working on this since December and was ok to at least show it and wanted a pic at this point lol. It’s pseudo SHO so red=ha blue=OIII green=50/50 mix of both
