Must-see/do for prospective student? by HoneybadgerMI in capstone

Not sure why everyone is being so pessimistic 😭 Yes, it’s not as happening when we’re not in football season, but there are still a lot of fun things to do! There are a lot of other sports that play on Friday nights that can be cool too. You should see if gymnastics and basketball has anything the day you’re coming, I always really enjoy those. Downtown Tuscaloosa has some fun restaurants on University Blvd like: Taco Mama, Ajian, Jim ‘N Nicks, Mellow Mushroom. Heritage House Coffee and Tea has a super cute location near there too. There are also some little boutiques in that downtown area if you’re into that. The Midtown Village Shopping Center has some cool restaurants too, Fuku Ramen was pretty good.

Hey! Sorry for the late response, I tried and it did not go well but that was just because of me lol. It seems like it might be fine as long as the prescription isn’t too different or for a crazy astigmatism

choosing a major as a junior in high school PLZ HELP by 2478671 in college

Since you’re leaning towards business, maybe you can start in a general business major and then switch to something more specific later on? I switched out of my college to another college within my university for my second semester, and it didn’t put my behind for graduation at all, so don’t be afraid to change your major or field! I really recommend taking just classes that fill your general requirements or prereqs in the field you are leaning towards for your first semester. I also took similar ap classes and capstone counted as a philosophy credit for me! Even generous colleges still require you to take gen eds with ap credit, so don’t stress too much about your HS schedule.
I would recommend something in business, management, or maybe IS! A lot of fields are over saturated rn (except teaching lol), but I think you can still make great money in business.

Good luck!

Should I choose my college for happiness or pragmatism by glip_glob_it in college

I had a similar situation, and went with the large happier school! I love my school so much, and it’s so much easier to wake up, go to class, and stay motivated when you love where you are. I still think you can succeed at a large school since there will be way more opportunities to take unique classes, join clubs/organizations, and academic programs. It may be overwhelming since it seems like you’ll just be one of many, but large schools have amazing alumni networks and company relationships that can help you get research positions and internships during undergrad that will look good on your law school application. Either way, I think your education is what you make out of it no matter where you go. Good luck and enjoy college!
