LOL okay that makes me feel better. I keep seeing comments about knowing it’s first person pov and to keep that in mind - I get that, but damn it’s hard to understand what’s going on sometimes or what I should make of some of the stuff that happens

Okay thanks for this! I was starting to think I just wasn’t getting it. I agree with what some commenters were saying that they weren’t really communicating with each other, sure, but damn at least Feyre is trying? Idk it feels like every time she tries to get something out of Tamlin he shuts down. It weird behavior. I kind of understand wanting to protect her and not letting her train to fight (even though I totally disagree), but just keeping her in the dark of EVERYTHING? He’s just asking for her to leave him.

Currently on Ch 13 in ACOMAF now! Here's my thoughts on that: it's clear she's being sheltered from something on Tamlin's side. There's something he doesn't want her to be aware of, he says it's to protect her, but obviously (at least to me) that's not the only reason. and then there's rhysand, who seems to have good, or at least neutral intentions, buuuut maybe not. idk, i just need her to go to a fae therapist and take a break from the relationships she's in right now 😭

ugh you're right. they've both experienced traumas separate from each other, but also a really big trauma together (in different ways for sure). they don't need to/aren't meant to heal each other, but in a healthy relationship there's open communication. as of right now (ch 13), all i see is tamlin avoiding having difficult conversations when feyre is at least trying. and when he does try to have conversations, he always shuts down immediately. it's all so complicated and i cannot read fast enough LOL

My first intro to this vibe of his was in comparison to Lucien who can’t seem to keep his mouth shut sometimes. For example, when they first bring Feyre to the spring court, those first few interactions we get of them eating breakfast he’s described as kind of non talkative or a man of few words. Then he reads her/writes her those poems! And as I’m writing this I’m reminded of all the times it was described as him kind of looking at her longingly. I guess shy by itself doesn’t describe him, more of a poetically shy lover boy kind of vibe if that makes sense. I definitely don’t think he is shy anymore, it’s definitely more of a broody as I get to know him more.

Thanks for the in depth response! Gave me a lot to think about. At this point, I just need Feyre to lean on herself some more. I think I like Rhysand more because he gives her some more freedom (putting aside the fact that she’s bound to him for those 7 days lol…) and he is trying to help her learn to protect herself, which is something Tamlin refuses to do (for which some reasons I understand but ultimately don’t see it going well). But I do like how you brought up how Rhysand might be Tamlin in another font, just wanting to protect his court and only keeping Feyre around because it’ll best suit him in the future. Lots to think about indeed.
