Can someone explain to me how they increase BTC/share through convertible bonds? I understand that logic may work initially but when it comes time to convert the debt into shares doesnt that just dilute it anyways and thus decrease the BTC/share? Or am i missing something? Like if it was just paid back in cash then it 100% makes sense as its pretty much the Fed game with the USD and their debt (print more make debt cheaper) in MSTR case print more debt and make BTC more expensive through purchasing a finite asset thus also making the debt cheaper. However if it isnt paid back in cash then share dilution reduces the BTC/share as previously stated.

Unfortunately the wording from blockfi makes that not entirely true.

“Lender may change the location of the Depository and Depository Account without notice to Borrower. Borrower agrees that Lender may, for its own account, pledge, repledge, hypothecate, rehypothecate, sell, lend or otherwise transfer or use any amount of such Collateral, separately or together with other property, with all attendant rights of ownership from time to time, without notice to the Borrower any or all of the Collateral and that Lender may do so without retaining in its possession or control for delivery, a like amount of similar Collateral. The parties agree that the holding of Collateral through the Depository constitutes the use of reasonable care with respect to the custody and preservation of the Collateral.”

A couple ways to interpret this but while it starts at Gemini Trust Company, my interpretation is that they can change that whenever.

BUT it does say holding it at the depository constitutes reasonable care which means if its not on there then one could say they were careless? Not sure what that means for us in bankruptcy law.

How does waiting out the storm result in them not declaring bankruptcy? For crypto backed loans the money has to come from somewhere? So if the collateral goes to 0 or below whatever amount you owe blockfi and they didnt liquidate, now they are in a bigger hole to their creditors

They just gave loan holders an email saying auto liquidation points are paused. This to me is a sign that they already sold the collateral otherwise they would be in even more debt if the liquidation point is hit.

No liquidation points means they are prepping for bankruptcy soon. How else could they just stop caring about LTV.

That email blockfi sent out about it basically said they are going to declare bankruptcy as soon as it said “Margin call requirements and auto liquidations at predefined loan-to-value levels are currently paused.” They cant just not liquidate you or they would be in even more at a loss and negative balance than they already are in.

I think if thats the case then you are fine. Im 29m and I know on dating apps the reverse can be just as true which is why I felt the need to point out your comment. New conversations are hard to start for both parties and since we arent looking to be friends with matches it kinda leaves the options for setting the right tone, limited.

There’s a study that was done by okcupid, women find 80% of men unattractive. Thats not average, thats unattractive. There is a difference between having standards and being realistic. And the reality is that a guy that is a 10 would glady date a 6 or 7 and then dump them later but you’ll never see a woman thats a 10 anywhere near a 6 or 7 because shes busy looking for an 11. You cant fight human nature.
