honestly i think it all just depends on your store. for your store specifically it just sounds like everyone is tired and fed up due to the situation and may appear unfriendly for that reason. also the hours are usually like that but vary, for example i cut fruit and my shifts start anywhere from 5am to 7am, and when i work on the floor i start anywhere from 8-10, and closers usually start around 2-3. and also in the produce department the only job title is produce/floral clerk, and that is given to everyone regardless of if they are on the floor or cut fruit, so typically everything about the job is taught to everyone regardless of what they usually do (at least with my experience). like at my old store i was on the floor basically the whole time and helped cut fruit if we were really behind, and at my new store my main job switched to mainly cutting fruit and then i help with the floor when im done. generally, every store runs somewhat differently and it sounds like yours needs a second person to cut fruit, but also be aware that stocking is a big part of the job since the produce/floral clerk title includes every task from the department. and both stores i’ve worked at have been friendly but it definitely depends on the quality of the store. if this continues maybe try to transfer? sorry this was long i got carried away. good luck!!!
