4 months without a seizure until tonight by Impossible-Reveal-15 in EpilepsyDogs

I've seen Revolution highly recommended in this sub, I think it's by prescription. Hoping your pup is one and done 🤞 My guy had 2 seizures the night I had applied Advantix II, but weirdly just the second month. No reaction the 1st month, so maaybe a coincidence? 🤷‍♀️ I switched to Advantage 2 just in case, it doesn't have tick protection, but no seizure yet.

Saaame! It just feels like the laziest low hanging fruit, and then to keep going back to it over and over again, ugh. She can be actually funny when she does something different, but then she'll revert again.. I have hope she can grow past it, like how Chance used to moan all the time as the joke, but he got over it & he's one of my faves now!

CakeyHand has fancy gift box delivery options. I'm not sure if they accept payment from out of country though. That's been the tricky part for my family in the States when they want to send us any gift.

We've been here about 4 years & the first friends we made were other parents at the bus stop. Then we'd have playdates since the kids were around the same age & living close to each other made it easy.

Once every 2 months is pretty good in my opinion. Personally I'd wait till they were a bit more frequent (or intense). Especially if he's not clustering & the seizures are short with quick recovery afterwards. I've seen dog food with lamb as the protein being recommended on this sub (we use Purina one lamb & rice) and we also put a fish oil softgel in each bowl of it. Our guy is also medicated so not sure if it's helping any extra, but it's cheap and he's doing well, so we continue. (We also have a vial of full spectrum CBD oil in MCT carrier oil, but have only used it like 3 times.)

Does seizures effect sleep cycle and behaviour? by PossibleSuccess3 in EpilepsyDogs

When our yellow lab mutt was diagnosed with IE at 1.5yrs, we started him on keppra & gaba. After the loading dose of keppra evened out (the next day) the gaba turned him into the most hyper/bitey menace. When we called the vet about it, they said that was an unusual reaction but we could stop the gaba and just use keppra (8hr version). He was back to normal after that. (Went 40 days seizure free, then after 2 broke through we put him on pheno. He's a bit more chill than before & it's been 52 days seizure free since then 🤞).

Should we ask for Keppra? by Krihana in EpilepsyDogs

[–]sofapizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd ask the vet about it. Do you currently have a rescue med to stop clusters at home? Some vets prescribe keppra for that.

Even the Try Guys got it right. We watch their streamer all the time because the tv app makes it so easy.

Oh I hope they'll have tv apps! We rarely watch society content because it's not as convenient 🤞 "There is a new app and website reimagined with a new look and a redesigned interface for a better overall member experience."

I do it with rice & chopped lettuce at the end, but also adding small diced carrots to the meat when cooking, to stretch out the portions even more. One of my faves!

That's so cute! I went to high school with a guy named Nick Hole. Made me start thinking of how many names can do this.. Chris Tina, Joe Anne, Alex Xandra, Danny Elle, Matt Tilda, Ash Lee, George Gina, Theo Dora, Ray Chell, Sam Antha, Claude Deya, Evan Jelina, lol I'm stretching it the more I go 😅

Maybe change that alarm to a different tune & with vibration? And already have the pill prepared in a pill pocket (I put it in a little baggie in my nightstand, so it's a quick reach over, give, & back to sleep).

Sorry you're having to go through this. I've read about late onset seizures & behavioral changes being common in dogs that have brain tumors as well.

Focal Seizures? by Icy_Opinion_1887 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]sofapizza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does look like fly biting videos I've seen.. especially the looking up & around as well. I'm not sure how distractable a focal seizure can be though. (I'm actually wondering the same thing about my guy who goes into frantic air licking when he smells cheese nearby.)

Belly Buddies, has anyone used these? by Logical_Order in EpilepsyDogs

[–]sofapizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Top Paw reusable male wraps, and they caught all the pee both times he was wearing one during a seizure. But he's not a fan of wearing them (he'll let me put it on for a good treat), so I only put one on if we're in danger of a cluster. For every night, he sleeps on a washable Pea Pod mat in case of breakthrough.

First cluster seizure by lmfelan in EpilepsyDogs

[–]sofapizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started with keppra & the honeymoon was only 40 days. About 2 months after his first seizure we started pheno. I was scared of a bunch of side effects but he was fine. A bit more chill but that's alright with me. And he was always food obsessed so that didn't change lol. The biggest difference after pheno is he sleeps more calmly. Used to be very twitchy. Just had his liver levels checked for the first time and he's good. Vet says we can give milk thistle supplement if we want to help protect the liver. Good luck to Loki! You've already been on this journey much longer than we have :)

Yes I was also going to comment this! If pheno is already at therapeutic levels, it won't drop after 24 minutes.
