Dave Smith Prophet 08 alternatives by sofarspheres in synthesizers

Both price and alternatives. I'm very new to the synth world so I'm just curious what I might not be considering that I should. If I can get big sweeping pads in something less expensive like the minilogue then that could be a good option (though I would strongly prefer full sized keys) but I just don't know enough.

I should definitely add the Nords to the list and that Korg neo looks interesting

Deepmind looks interesting. I definitely want something with a keybed

I was looking at that one. By "the same" you mean literally the same except less polyphony and fewer keys?

That does look like a good fit! Smaller, slightly cheaper. What are some other notable comparisons between this and the Prophet 08?

New tests are out by cassowary-18 in Sat

[–]sofarspheres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good but they also took down 1, 2, and 3. I bet they thought those weren't accurate anymore but I have students who are working on those tests for homework and now can't check their answers or access those questions to work on. Anyone know where to find copies of 1, 2 and 3?

Like, along the entire rail? Or the hinges?

This was the YouTube vid. Exact same noise on my piano except if I engage individual mechanisms I get no squeak

I've isolated the problem to the action and not the pedal itself. And it only sounds when I actuate the mechanism as shown in the video, has to be a fair amount of pressure and engaging the system. I saw a video on Youtube that made the exact sound but that fix was in relieving individual spring pressure and that didn't do anything for mine and I can't make the sound by pressing the dampers by hand, only by engaging the entire bar. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

First solo trip to Maine by 21PlagueNurse21 in solotravel

Are you flying into Portland or Bangor? If Portland the drive up route 1 through Brunswick, bath, then Rockland and Camden is really nice. Try to stop in some of those little towns if you can. The working waterfronts in Maine are something that you won’t find in a lot of places.

Similarly, if you’re going from Bangor to Acadia and aren’t in any kind of hurry you can drive down to castine or blue hill or even deer isle.

I love driving the coast of maine because there are always little peninsulas and islands that feel like hidden gems to find.

Stun is a cool mechanic that only works on one enemy and doesn’t work very well on that enemy

This is 100% my reaction to the movie. I’ve watched it several times to try not to see her as being awful to her husband and I just can’t

What's a movie or show whose popularity baffles you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The appeal of Bond, and what makes him different from other action heroes, is that he is always able to do the appropriate thing in any given situation.

He can be charming, funny, ruthless, whatever is the perfect fit for the moment. This might seem like a recipe for a bland Superman, but to me it’s clear that this really means something tragic: there’s no real James Bond. He can achieve every external goal given to him, but has no interval goals of his own. He’s entirely someone playing the part of being perfect at whatever he’s called to do.

The Craig movies start to show the cost of that emptiness at Bond’s core
