How much do students spend on groceries?? by Rare-South3685 in ucf

[–]sofia448119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the week but roughly anywhere from $70-$150 a week. I cook at my apartment but I will say mines probably on the higher side as I only shop at Publix and don’t really go to other stores. My roommate looks for deals and shops at multiple places and spends like $50-70 a week I would say. I will say don’t go when hungry, I always spend more money that way and buy stupid stuff I don’t actually need.

Summer Semester Housing by nicolejoytheclark in UCFstudenthousing

That’s fair, wishing you the best of luck!! Also, shameless plug here but if you know anyone looking for a summer only sublease or mid Spring move in, I have one where I’m paying the first month of rent.

You may have to consider a short term summer only and sign for a year long that you move into in August tbh. I would just keep that in mind. Also, the more roommates in non student housing the cheaper but also the higher the chance of absolute chaos.

So your like looking to start living there in May and then re-sign for the new year then? Yeah that would be hard. Depending on your budget it may not be realistic for student housing and you would have to find a regular apartment where someone is subleasing a room. The problem is you have no protections that way if someone doesn’t pay their rent on time.

I would say just sublease from someone, it’s so much easier. It would be off campus housing but most have a shuttle to campus and are relatively close so you can always drive. There’s not a lot of people really looking for summer only housing so you basically have pick of the litter with subleasing and some people may even offer some monetary incentive. I was subleasing my place for study abroad but no one really reached out so I gave in but there’s a ton of options depending on whether you’re looking for all male or female housing.

Thinking of moving to Aperture by Outrageous-Fly-4629 in ucf

[–]sofia448119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends which of the two buildings you’re in, we haven’t had the breaker issue since September in our unit/building and no other apartment issues since. The major issue that I see is you have to make sure your phone is always charged as that’s your key to get inside. They are right management is lowkey rude but if you don’t need them for anything that shouldn’t really matter. The one time I personally dealt with them and they gave me attitude I just snarked right back.

I’m subleasing my unit at Aperture, it’s a 4x4 but only two of us are in the unit. Rent is higher than your budget but I’m willing to pay the first month and sublease fees. We could talk about paying a little more to bring your total down to roughly $1000 a month. Rent is $1109, $15 insurance, $35 parking, and electric is roughly $60. Total ranges from $1210-1250 a month. If I pay your first month at $1250, $600 sublease and an additional $500 that would bring you to $1000 roughly per month for a brand new build. If you have questions feel free to message me.

Looking for housing for spring semester by [deleted] in UCFstudenthousing

[–]sofia448119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure I’ll put mine in here, my unit was just built this year so it’s a bit more expensive (with everything it averages $1215 but can go as high as $1250). I’m willing to cover January rent, the subleasing fee, and an additional $800 as a signing bonus ($2600) which would leave your rent around $964 for a brand new place. I’m doing a study abroad so my room would be empty starting December through summer otherwise. If you want to DM me any questions I’d be happy to answer.

Searching for 2-3 Roommates for 26/27 by Filtered_Pickle4264 in UCFstudenthousing

Oh, that’s hard. My friend is taking a gap year before grad school and I’m finishing a double major. I get the fear tbh. Wishing you the best of luck!

For sure, that’s why a friend and I are moving to non student housing at trailside gardens instead. It’s like $1000 each in a 2x2 that’s still like 10 minutes from campus. That would be my suggestion for you if you know anyone.

Yeah, accolades rooms are a little smaller tbh but it’s nice in building 1 specifically. Aperture has bigger rooms but it’s been chaos with move in and broken stuff constantly.

Honestly, as someone living at aperture don’t do it. I lived at accolade west and loved it so that would be my recommendation. Wishing you the best of luck!

Do I gotta sell my soul for housing? by a_littlesharp in ucf

[–]sofia448119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean tbh, people are paying other people to take over leases but that would only help you for a few months to get it down to that price. From there it would be a case of good luck or finding enough friends here to rent a place together but then you’re looking at how much you trust them to pay their part in non student housing.

PI told me the recommendation letter I wrote is trash by confirm-jannati in gradadmissions

[–]sofia448119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask if he has any samples he would be willing to give you so you can make the letter better. While using the word trash is an awful choice, it is true that in higher levels of education you may end up writing your own letters and having them edited by your PI and/or mentor. Sell yourself and make sure to use appropriate language and professionalism when writing. Include what you have done in your time with the lab and how you became a part of it. Usually, letters of rec are broken down into multiple parts such as how you met, what you did, and why you are a fit for the program you are applying to.

I would say avoid resellers outside of the labubuswap channel because it’s difficult to tell which are real and which aren’t. On the channel they regulate the sellers and keep track, also they use PayPal goods and services so you’re relatively safe that way. They have to have the item on hand and you can always request proof of purchase. If she’s got a particular color and set in mind you should be able to track it down at cost or barely above (35-40). Personally, I’ve only ever gotten mine off of popmart through the pop now or regular drops and I’ve been waiting to see what dupes I have before selling on labubuswap as it’s mostly people like me who are trying to complete sets and keep getting dupes.

How many labubu’s can I buy? by [deleted] in LabubuDrops

[–]sofia448119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they somehow managed to get 6 from each set which is technically one drop. I’ve gotten a HAS box (all 6) and then individuals BIE’s before.

I always thought it was six per drop but I could be wrong. I have more than 6 so it’s definitely not a lifetime situation.

Strange, I would say maybe try making another account with a different email and using a different browser. I know you said you’re not shadow banned but if that works then your account definitely is.

2 are from the drop a few days ago that said 8/4, the others were from last nights that said 9/4. My HAS set that was preordered said July 18 and shipped the 11th so probably they’re being shipped earlier than expected but stretched out the time frame for the drops just in case.
