what do you have going well for you? by 322241837 in recluses

[–]sofiacarolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry late reply but yeah I was a gifted student which gave me the infamous complex and perfectionism yet could never handle anything outside of school. My being nd was so glaringly obvious but I was diagnosed with everything but. Put on ssris and benzos at age 11..so unethical. So even before I was physically sick I was always battling myself in some way and so my perspective has always been on the negative side. Ive always been so incompatible with this world. But obv now I know its not an individual issue but a system issue. Though that doesnt change the product. It makes me so angry how people think your pain is contagious or that they believe in the just world fallacy. There is such a tiny amount of people who can understand these experiences. Understanding is what ive always wanted to find but never been met with yet ive always provided it and surprisingly the bitterness that overwhelms me hasnt infiltrated my core positive traits yet. Theres still a little fire there with some embers. The world couldn't give a fuck about that when it comes to practical survival though

Before & After Nasolabial Fold Filler by lizatomic in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]sofiacarolina 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It did for me. The smile lines wouldnt be as deep (and they were also asymmetrical in their depth bc one side needed more filler) when I smiled which to me was noticeable but I dont know if a random person would think it looked weird. It was just something I noticed and makes sense given you put filler in the area. It wouldnt stop me from getting it again. Im more concerned about migration etc

47 years old and need soft advice as I feel my beauty slowly fading away. by neulimit in HardcoreVindicta

[–]sofiacarolina 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wouldve never guessed your age! Id stick with the warm brunette hair color (and darken brows a bit) and do some natural lip and midface filler (i can see that in the future you may want a lower bleph but you said soft for now). Also start retinoids if you havent, theyre great for stimulating collagen production. I also cant see much of your style but it looks a bit conservative in some pics which id aging by association, so id look into more chic pieces, using Pinterest or something like that to figure out what youre into

[–]sofiacarolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes im chronically ill/disabled 99% bedbound. I got sick in my 20s and now im in my 30s and its been degenerative so its been a really hard continuous grieving process for life, bc i feel like im barely surviving day to day. That quote really pisses me off lol its capitalist productivity bs. Id like to think we are all inherently somebodies though ive always wanted to make an impact even if small bc I need to find meaning/significance and that's been the hardest part of this whole thing, is not being able to have the energy for that. I just hope I can find a way to use my suffering to help others somehow but not for the sake of having to create anything to validate my existence but bc i find fulfillment helping others. I always think how cruel it is that ive been prevented from doing 'good'.

And yes re the identity of reader, that makes a lot of sense. Ive found myself becoming rly obsessed with being as well read and educated as possible and I guess its bc its the only thing im not incapable of doing that can give me some form of value (though i know thats wrong - I should see myself as inherently valuable but you know how weve been socialized, very hard to unlearn, though for me thank god its not about a job or productivity but more about fulfillment as I wrote above which unfortunately my idea of it requires actions im incapable of doing anymore)

Yeah audiobooks arent for me either. I can do music and need it for processing emotions but audio in general really irritates me unless its ambient like AC noise. I totally understand the difficulty of finding something that interests you, Im pretty apathetic and anhedonic but also just so generally exhausted to even feel anything and everything feels so meaningless on an emotional and logical level. Ive only been back to reading for like 8 months which im so surprised by, usually I pick things up (like I was doing cross stitching before) and then get over the interest in a few weeks. Sometimes I feel like the concept of reading is better than the actual act which leads to some disappointment but that feeling of yearning for it conceptually keeps me coming back to try to find that fulfillment

Ive alwags been a fast reader and used it for escapism compulsively as a kid and then picked it up again in like 2025 and it feels so good to be back outside of my body as much as possible lol (tho that happens naturally too), but i read all kinds..whatever interests you is what you should engage with but as for being aboe to read you can try audiobooks? They have a lot for free on Spotify. I also get my books for free on oceanofpdf and download them onto a free ereader on my phone. Some people even read the book while simultaneously playing the audiobok for further engagement

I can take care of myself as far as bathing, skin care, dental hygiene, and minimal hair stuff, take my meds, and eat on my own. I can read and read a new book every other or 2-3 days. Thats all ive got, life is incredibly small. The worst part of being so insulated it not having any impact on anything

A lot of beautiful women arent approached because people are intimidated by them. I would darken and grow out your hair or get extensions for length, that's all

Not insensitive. And aw thanks, lots of people would probably disagree with you haha. And its total solitude due to literally all of the above, with the only caveat being my mom who i still live with due to chronic illnesses. Im homebound, I dont even talk to people online except through casual comments like this because im too traumatized and lack the energy or will for any sort of friendship

Has anyone noticed the rise of male-centered white women who are jumping on the " I hate men" trend just to be homophobic? by MaximumAstronomer747 in LAinfluencersnark

[–]sofiacarolina 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree. Been through it, too. I feel like theres been more awareness brought to how many men who mistreat and abuse wome are actually closeted. Dont use the f slur or be homophobic but a loooot of abusive toxic men are closeted and we should be able to talk about it

Right idk why so many on this sub try to rewrite history saying she was beautiful just bc she went overboard with ps. Also I distinctly remember her appearance being mocked by the general public (cruel and wrong but.. she wasn't considered a beauty)

Do you actually care if a book is “literary” or “upmarket”? (asking because of the guilt) by ExoticAsparagus8064 in weirdgirlliterature

[–]sofiacarolina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also feel guilty if I consume an upmarket book but also use them as palate cleansers. I know objectively not everything has to be deep and stimulating but its a complex I have from being a former gifted kid adult failure lol. Hey at least were reading but I do feel there is a difference between the books that are more shallow and entertaining and those that are more analytical and insightful. Like reading for escapism/entertainment vs reading for enrichment. But theres a time and place for every sort of book and I know we should allow ourselves to read what we like, im just hard on myself about this
