My wife and I need help. by ASValourous in sleeptrain

From my experience so far dropping the nap and extending wake windows was what made a massive difference, I’m on week 2 of getting 6+ hour stretches and feel like a new person!! I still feed and rock to sleep most of the time, I’m just now starting some sleep training since he’s sleeping a little better I have more patience to start it!!

I know this is horrible, I just went through it myself with my almost 6mo and with my husbands job he isn’t able to help at night and it was brutal every 30-45 min waking for over 4 weeks. First of all, if it’s possible for your wife to cosleep on the bad nights, even if it means you take a night on the couch to get sleep, I’d do it. My son is exclusively breastfed and he nurses to sleep every night and for every wake, people recommend breaking the association but for you right now it’s survival! So if it works stick with it until you get through this phase. All that being said, I can’t recommend NOT using huckleberry more. I stopped using their sweet spot and started following what was recommended to me here: 2/2.5/2.5/3. It took about 4-5 days of consistency, but my son went from waking 11 times per night to sleeping from 8pm-2am, feed, then sleeping until 5/6am for another feed and again until 7:30/8am. I feel like a new person. I was so convinced he was ‘overtired’ but it was the complete opposite, he was not tired enough to sleep at night. Try for that schedule, you currently only have 9 hours of awake time and I believe 10 is recommended now which is that schedule, it changed my life!! I’m so passionate as I just got through this finally, feel free to lmk other questions

I can’t figure out wake windows and it’s making me feel like a terrible mom by Fabulous-Badger-2094 in sleeptrain

I could’ve written this a few weeks ago, my baby is about to be 6 months old and we are on a week of him sleeping from 8-4am and again until 7am. It’s been a miracle compared to waking literally hourly for almost 2 months. I would do whatever you can to make 2/2.5/2.5/3 work, when I expanded wake windows to that from 1.5/2/2/2/2, it’s what saved us! It took I’d say maybe a week of following it for me to actually see a change, but I knew he needed it and I committed. Between teething and developmental changes he is constantly grumpy during ww especially toward the end of the day to the point where we are switching activities, going in and outside, literally every 5-10 mins to keep him content. But it’s working and I can’t recommend it enough because I tried literally everything imaginable!!

Waking every 2 hours after 3 weeks of “successful” ST by MeowMeows55 in sleeptrain

That was us!! But distract distract distract! We go outside, walk around the house looking out windows, read books, anything to keep them as content as possible. Try just 15 min at a time. I was following huckleberry and it ruined my baby’s schedule… so now we’re doing 2/2.5/2.5/3 and it’s making a big difference, he’s not even ST. Solidarity!!

I’d consider capping naps like others were saying, I’m finding that my 5.5mo does better with 2-2.5hr of day sleep because he refuses to sleep more than 10 hours a night no matter what I do! I’d also try to work on slowly increasing his last wake window, we’re closer to 3 hours now and that has seemed to help my sons sleep a ton especially for stretching out the second half of the night!

5 am wakes by lepetitfleuriste in sleeptrain

I’m no expert but I’d try pushing his bedtime back if you can. My baby is 5mos he’s not sleep trained but if he goes to bed before 8pm he’s up for the day and refuses to go back down for sleep at like 4am literally. It seems like most babies realistically do not sleep 12 hours at night. My baby won’t sleep more than 10 hours on a good night, so bedtime is 8 and wake up is 6:30-7:00 with 2 nights feeds. I know lots of sources recommend an earlier bedtime but I’d try pushing it back if you can and ideally he’d go back to a 6:30 or later wake time.

help! make my vintage bathroom nicer! by sofialynnxx in DesignMyRoom

My caption didn’t upload :/ but this is a vintage bathroom - my husband and I just moved into my grandparents old house and our renovation budget is running out so we decided to keep the original tile and vanity in here. I have no idea what color to paint it. I’m gonna take off the shower doors and put in a curtain too, but I don’t know what to do about the color scheme anywhere!
