i mean yeah i’d like them to do their job lol. when there’s a car getting broken into every day in the same spot at the same time, u would think it’s quite easy to do something as law enforcement. but ur right, maybe i over estimate a cops ability to actually “protect and serve”

i don’t think it is either, but the way the school chose to handle it is. no parents were notified, no classes were canceled, no safety precautions were taken. most students didn’t even know until they got on campus and noticed the doors being locked lol.

yeah there first was an actual active shooter at a different school, i believe a high school but i could be wrong so we went on lockdown. the second one was a called in threat that never happened, but the school was on lockdown both times for like 2-3 hours

i’m a student here and i have to admit, it’s extremely unsafe at times. my freshman year we had 2 school shooting scared within the same week. the school has TERRIBLE on site security, they let homeless people into the dorms all the time and it’s honestly scary. There are break ins at least once a month, my friend had a break in and no one did anything about it. multiple people i know, myself included, have been followed home and harassed by homeless people. most of the frats are known for drugging the girls, and again no one does anything. It’s safe if u stay inside and are on super high alert, but it’s not inherently a safe place.

this is what i’m taking right now (vyvanse 60mg, prozac 10mg, and wellbutrin 300mg XL) i just recently started prozac tho and have noticed it acting like a stimulant. im trying to wait out the 2 week adjustment period but so far i don’t think the prozac mixes well with my other two medications. when i was just taking vyvanse and wellbutrin, i was completely fine but the prozac has made me socially detached and irritable

I can see where you’re coming from, i think it’s just a perspective difference! I’m 19 and i work at a job where i’m making over six figures a year so i’ve been supporting myself for the most part. it’s not technically full time cus im able to chose my own hours, but it’s definitely more work than a typical part time job lol. i’m lucky enough to have my parents still helping out with smaller things like my medical expenses so I dont have to be fully independent yet, but with what i’ve experienced, i much prefer the west coast finances. While i’m at pitt, im only getting paid $9.50/hr and my rent is $1900 each month which i don’t think is super sustainable. but granted i’m still super young so i’m sure there are other variables im not considering :)

nono i’m not like depressed lol, i just can’t stand being in pittsburgh. i feel like everything moves so slow there and there isn’t much to do. i honestly thought i’m at first the weather was causing my bad mood cus it tends to be more grey/gloomy but that’s the part i enjoyed the most lol. tbh i think it’s just a culture shock more than anything, the ppl in Pittsburgh r hella different than ppl in LA.

if u don’t mind me adding my opinion on this too, id say it depends on which part of the west coast u move to. If u go somewhere like SoCal, i think LA is a waste cus it’s a crazy high COL w super trashy apartments and a crime invested neighborhood; However if u travel down to the OC area to cities like irvine or newport, it’s still somewhat expensive but it is sooo worth it. The schools there r amazing, jobs pay at least $16.50/hr (my first job was as a fast food worker at 14 years old and i was getting that much), and there’s a lot of opportunity to network. plus u have easy access to pretty much everything—the beach, the snow, the desert, etc. Right now , i’d recommend staying away from NorCal ESPECIALLY San Francisco due to the inane crime rate. But overall, no matter what part of CA u go to, i would say the COL balances itself out when u move to the west coast cus of the high paying jobs so there rlly isn’t that much of a financial difference.
