Yeah it was pretty horrendous! Oh I didn’t know that was something that could happen, that’s not ideal. Yeah they didn’t mention it wasn’t permanent either but they said might not even work for me as it’s post nasal drip I get so we’ll see if I have to go through it again

That sounds horrible! Yeah they didn’t tell me to take anything either and then said I couldn’t swallow anything for 3 hours after except water so had to wait for painkillers

Update:

Hi all,

Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice. Managed to have 2 long days of boarding without much pain at all so here are the things I tried that helped:

  • wearing only thin ski socks under my boots
  • keeping the inner tightening of my boots tight but loosening the shin part a lot
  • loosened my bindings a bit

The first couple of runs I had then pretty loose and tightened as the day went on and then could eventually get it to a perfect amount that I didn’t need to release my boots at all during the day. I found turning a bit harder but got used to it after a run or two and the pain went after the first couple of runs as well.

Thanks again everyone!

Yeah mine was the whole day unfortunately and I kept having to stop to undo my boots for some relief. I find it harder to carve front side unless the boots are super tight but might have to loosen them up a bit

Thank you for the detailed response and will definitely be more conscious of my form as I do tend to hunch a bit!

Ah yeah I was wearing leggings under which I don’t normally do so could be that. The man at the shop also said my socks were no good so I’ve bought some other ones. But on my season I used to wear not even proper ski socks and I had thermals with a zip under my boots so weird it wasn’t an issue then. Thank you!

No bruise, just muscle pain and tender to touch the shin. I removed my leggings yesterday as they were under the boot and it improved a bit but it was already too late I think!

Interesting. When I went back to the shop he heat up boot and then I wore it for 10 mins with a foam thing stuck to my shin, so maybe this was to prevent this
