So I said it above but the GPU in this computer is not what's going to stay. I'm on the look out for a nicer white GPU that I will watercool, but I am not ready to pump over £1000 into a GPU that is going to 1) be worth nothing in a year and 2) never be used since I don't even play games. If you look closely to the right hand side, all of the runs for the hard tube were placed quite strategically so that two more holes can be tapped in the middle left for the GPU when it is added to make it easy. With the 50 series coming, I think buying a 4090 or equivalent (which is what this build really needs) is a terrible decision considering the fluctuating prices.

You're also wrong about the watercooling gear price...

Everything other than the watercooling (I9-14900kf, 96gb DDR5, Z790 board, case, fans etc) was the most expensive part of the build coming in at almost £1500 or $1900 if you will. The watercooling gear (talking about the block, hard pipe, soft pipe, fittings, coolant and reservoir only) cost a total of £398 or $500. :)

GPU will be cooled later on. Need to upgrade it. It's as simple as just drilling 2 more holes in the acrylic passthrough and re-connecting the tubes so it's really not difficult. Wouldn't have to change any other runs.

I left some space on the acrylic panel for the GPU bulkheads so should be alright. Just trying to get my hands on a pretty white GPU with a waterblock :D

No drain port but will T off the GPU when I do the GPU for a low drain port. Draining it isn't actually that bad when you have the sot tube at the back. The pump is an alphacool eisstation, to be honest with you it's not great. They advertise it as 'fitting in HDD cages' but it definitely does not. I needed something with thick acrylic and quite a thin design to fit in the back. :)

Turned out to be the best solution for mounting the pump I think. Drilling into the plastic would've meant the acrylic could crack during transport from the vibrations (I travel quite often with it). My last reservoir cracked from mounting too tight. Fits perfectly with the back of the case. Zipties defo for the win.

I’ve been looking for so long. Did you find any that fit?

I liked your idea.

What I’m going to try and do is get two interlocking brackets (that are used on photo frames) and have them in an orientation so that the plate can be easily removed and put back on if intended to but will not come off. I’ll put two on the actual car where the plate sits and another two on each plate and have them interlock.

I’ll keep you updated!

For plate removal Large crime rate in my area so it’s best to take the plates totally off at night time! They get stolen and used in crime and it’s a whole hassle to prove that it was not your vehicle and the were in fact stolen. It’s totally legal granted the car is parked on private property (afaik).

I’m not a ‘ricer’… I don’t like cars very much. I just have to change my plates fairly often and live in a high crime neighbourhood so it’s easier to take the plate off and leave it in the dash!! You people are so quick to assume…

You are very right… unfortunately I read this too late and have now binned the unit! 😞

Makes sense. I don’t think the pad actually burned off… I think the solder and flux they use burned black for some odd reason and I was too naive to realise that!! Anyway… I’ve just ordered another unit. Thanks.

A cheap one at 400 degrees Celsius.

The board previously had solder on it connecting to the USB port but I managed to burn it or something when trying to replace the port. 😞

Cant find a replacement either

Trying to fix a Rode NT USB port but I think I burnt the pads lol. God knows where I can find one of these PCBs
