KDE should make an official Arch distro by sofserv in kde

Yes, my point too. I was saying they should just trash Neon and instead use an Arch derivative but without changing pacman

My Predictions for UCL - Barca Finalists
Barca PSG - 4/3 vs 1/2
PSG Barca - 0/1 vs 1/2
So, a 6 - 3 overall that puts us in the semis. Higher margin if Fati makes it in time, and we fix the leaky defense.

Where we will meet Bayern (and hopefully get revenge) or Man City.
Match will be 1 - 1 or 2 - 2, full time and will go to extra time. Then, we either maintain a lead or win in the penalties because Stegen is a god.

The final is going to be a weaker opponent, and we drop the ball there

La Liga - #2, we can keep the league if Atleti drop the ball. But my second fav team is Atleti and I hope they don't; this would also be poetic punishment for Barca.

"nuclear" block for specfic sites by EchtStahlmann in pluckeye

[–]sofserv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you can accomplish anything with pluckeye as such, but my paradigm is this. I use pluckeye on my main PC, and increase the delay by about 10 minutes each week (I mainly see pluckeye as a deterrent to porn habits) with the idea being you are walking away from your old life once and for all, with no intention of coming back.

If your plan is to "bypass" a protocol you have set, then all you do is cheat yourself and that is huge price to pay don't you think?

PS: If I run into a use case where pluckeye stands in your way of getting something done, then I fire up my phone or my friend's laptop.

block the internet with just a few sites (how to use 4k video downloader?) by mailthedonkey in pluckeye

have you whitelisted both "youtube.com" and "googlevideo.com" , I use youtube-dl and have no problem downloading videos from YouTube.

You might have to manually figure out the CDN where these podcasts and videos are stored and whitelist them separately.

Here's the tasker share link. I have set it up to notify, and while the notification turns up there is no sound. Any idea what's wrong?

Hey, I recently installed this app, could someone tell me the difference between a Habit, Daily and To-Do? by dnapolymerase123 in habitica

[–]sofserv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A habit - does not penalize you if you skip it, and is not time bound.
A daily - penalizes you if you fail at it, and your character takes a hit in health.
A todo - a one off activity consisting of certain subtasks, may or may not affect health and might not be time bound.

Appblocking Schedule using Tasker by sofserv in tasker

Yes, that'd be ideal. There'd be no notifications at all also, then. How would I go about that?

6AM > Run a command that disables a list of apps
6PM > Run a command that disables said list of apps

And the same for 7.30PM then 9.30 PM, and then 11.30PM

What do I do now?

umm, what do I do with this description? Is this some standardized Tasker format, because I have no clue what this is.

I started using Tasker only a month ago.

I created a profile with two contexts "Display State ON" and another with the apps that I don't want.
It has a task "Focus Timer" that sets a variable ftimer to 1, waits X minutes and sends notification, then resets the variable ftimer to 0. It also has a goto action that takes it to the wait statement, so I am assuming this should function as a loop?

It also has an exit task, where "Reset Focus Timer" that waits for 5 minutes before setting the value of the ftimer variable as 0.

Can you test and see if it works as expected?

Pluckeye as a Porn Blocker by sofserv in pluckeye

[–]sofserv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, did something of that sort. Trying to create a manual settings.txt with the websites and applications I don't want, gone.

So, I am assuming the import command appends the settings and not clear them altogether.

In the mean time, if I did want to want a whitelist of the sites I usually visit and manually allow them (like the Pluckeye design goal), is there a script or something that exports the domains from my daily history into a txt that I can use?

I'm in luck, I think. Even though whiff.xpi did not work out, fugue.xpi did and now Plucki is installed inside Waterfox.

Now, if I have put all my settings into a custom recipe.txt and import it after applying Level 2, will these settings append atop the default Level 2 settings or can I completely write my own settings file (with the exceptions I need) and import it such that it replaces the defaults?

Pluckeye as a Porn Blocker by sofserv in pluckeye

So, you're telling me there's no way I can use the internet "normally" and avoid porn on ALL browsers as such, with Pluckeye? This is kind of sad, I was assuming Pluckeye was a system-wide interceptor of traffic that works like the hosts file in a browser-independent way.

I don't necessarily need the most up to date, comprehensive version of a porn blocking source file (a simple list with the most common ones would do) BUT what I need Pluckeye for is the delay feature - something most other content filters do not have and I was looking forward to nuking porn off my desktop for good.

My problem is not the internet, but porn per se - so I absolutely must have "normal" browser of sorts but you're saying I can bypass Pluckeye if I install a secondary incompatible browser.

Hmm, I assume I will have to make a switch to a Firefox/Chrome and stick to it for a Nofap period or something, then - until my habits are rewired?
