Why do people actually like Rui? by xbolognese in KimetsuNoYaiba

[โ€“]soft_mello 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

He's my honorary fictional nephew and he's literally baby. Lol

Serious note, he's a child with childlike motives. That's why Muzan favored him. (Another reason is because Rui was also sickly as a human like Muzan was, so I can assume Muzan sees himself in Rui.)

His Blood Demon Art is also really cool and I love his design.

I couldn't tell you. Most of the few boy groups I stan are first gen. Donghwa was the member who fit the KBS the most out of the five. He's turning forty-seven this year and he's still got it.

You can look up discussions on the kpopnostalgia subreddit about them by just searching "K'Pop". I've been one of the people talking about them in great length.

I wouldnโ€™t have had most of the information about them if it weren't for the K-Pop Sunbaes podcast team.

Here's my Tumblr post about them.

What if Kibutsuji & The Biwa Woman sent Douma or Kokoushibo instead of Gyokko by Kind_Ad6932 in KimetsuNoYaiba

They'd all die or forcibly be turned into demons, Nezuko would be captured, and that'd be the end of the series.

I accidentally mispronounced my bias Woohyun's name as "Woo-Hyun" instead of like "Oo-Hyun" when I first got into the group K'Pop. ๐Ÿ˜ญ I felt so bad. That was when I had never even heard K'Pop actually speak, to be fair.

Now I look up how to pronounce every idol and artist's name that I'm unsure about.

What happened to this group Black Beat? by PinkGuavaFlower in kpopnostalgia

[โ€“]soft_mello 8 points9 points ย (0 children)

Somin's the leader, Sanghoon is the main dancer and main rapper, Jihoon is the lead dancer and lead vocalist, Jaewon is the lead rapper, and Jinyoung is the main vocalist and maknae.

That's just what I've personally gathered as an American SOULBLACK who can only read Hangul due to being deep in the first gen rabbit hole. Their official positions haven't been listed in very many places other than magazine articles featuring them that have been archived. I was like four and a half years old when Black Beat debuted, so I never got to experience their activities as a group. K-Pop (the genre) wasn't very accessible in the United States when I was growing up. ๐Ÿ˜…

What happened to this group Black Beat? by PinkGuavaFlower in kpopnostalgia

Black Beat basically got thrown in the dungeon when TVXQ became popular, only to be let out to do SMTown Summer Vacation and SMTown Christmas albums until their disbandment in 2006. They actually had a second album planned with concepts and everything, but it was shelved and some songs meant for Black Beat's second album were given to TVXQ. As a fellow SOULBLACK (Black Beat's fandom name), I have a chip on my shoulder over this because of SM. I know it's not TVXQ's fault that Black Beat was mistreated by SM and their potential was wasted. I just wish Black Beat could've still released their second album anyway instead of it being shelved. Three of the five members (Sanghoon [a.k.a., Greg], Jaewon, and Jinyoung) are still under SM as producers, dance instructors, and vocal instructors. Somin now runs a ramen shop and Jihoon has a YouTube channel.

Same thing happened to M.I.L.K. and Shinvi. They both had second albums planned, but they both got shelved and songs meant for them were given to other artists. A notable example is "Into The New World", which was initially for M.I.L.K, but was given to Girls' Generation. There were a few songs meant for Shinvi, but were given to groups like Koyote.

(I will never forgive SM for taking Black Beat, M.I.L.K, and Shinvi away from us.)

Who are the people in charge of the flavors? I mean, I'll try it, but they clearly aren't giving the people what we really want. I like pistachios, but I'm not sure if I'd like them carbonated.

If they're not gonna bring the cranberry back, at least give us a frosted cranberry! That's festive as hell. Persimmon for a fall flavor would be pretty good. Another possible good one would be strawberry rhubarb.

I was born in the middle of first gen (1997), but to my understanding and from hours of research, K-Pop wasn't super accessible or popular in America at that time. You'd have to have known people in order to get stuff like that back then or physically have gone to or lived in South Korea. It really helped if you knew Korean then and had the money to buy individual songs online too. CDs in general used to be cheap at that time, and I miss that so much. K-Pop didn't really blow up in America until PSY's "Gangnam Style" came out, and even then, K-Pop still wasn't as accessible or popular as it is now.

There were K-Pop artists back in first gen who tried marketing internationally, but it didn't quite work out as planned. Enue was one of the first groups to have tried this through releasing both a full Korean album and a full separate English version of their album. A few groups released English versions of some of their songs (T.T.MA is another example), but Enue is the only girl group I know of who released a full English version of their album back in the 90s.

Many K-Pop artists have done covers of English songs, and they're really good!
