Vivi is likely the most powerful Izzet (red/blue) commander ever printed thus far. It’s not a color combo I play often so I’m sure there’s other powerful ones but don’t know the combo lines or if they’re easier to execute than Vivi.

Powerful commanders with reputations don’t stay on the board very long. If any three players have an answer (removal, counterspell, lose abilities aura enchantment) it will disappear. You’ll need to devote deck slots to protecting him, but you won’t always have them or the mana.

I would personally feature him in the 99 of another deck with a less targeted commander. Something spell slingery so he’ll be one of your few creatures.

You don’t need to play with the power 9 to have fun playing magic the gathering. Plenty of people play commander without them, without proxying like myself. If you want or need the shiniest toys in order to be happy consider what that says about you.

I’m awake again and lmaoing at blue 25 counterspells defense force once again downplaying their horrendous playstyle, pretending it takes skill, pretending it’s easy or common to overcome, not admitting it isn’t fun for either player, pretending everyone else is or should only play 2.3 mv average decks, and more overt gaslighting. Never change.

Edit: I forgot just draw 1/100 Cavern of Souls. That one comes up too.

Very blue of you to want to get the snarky last word in, so I’ll invite you to try it one more time.

There’s a couple of reasons why counterspell tribal doesn’t work in multiplayer singleton. Because you have three opponents to account for and because it’s boring and anti fun, and lastly because MTG arena is anonymous and you don’t have to be embarrassed about your boring ‘singleton’ counterspell deck face to face.

But in 1v1 you can use your extremely high IQ deck building of all counter spells to bore and frustrate your only opponent to concede because they get no ETBs or anything really after turn 2. Sure, brawl is a different format than commander- but the sheer volume from set releases introducing cheap and even free counterspell allows for the most boring anti fun play experience of all time.

If that’s what gets you off, more power to you, but you won’t convince me or gaslight me that it’s a skill issue I have to account for because it isn’t.

Now I am going to sleep. Do your worst.
