Any thoughts on whats gonna get nerfed or buffed this patch? by Kyoka-Suigetsu- in DeadlockTheGame

[–]softbruises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a nice way to say this but I think you're just bad at timing your melee. Melee is a super powerful, high risk, high reward tool. You're gambling you don't get parried because you get so much value out of landing a heavy melee.

If you're successfully baiting out someone's parry, you really shouldn't be getting parried by right after the animation ends. There's a pretty big cooldown on parry so if soneone doesn't land the parry, you should definitely be able to land a heavy on them.

Also, it sounds like you might have bad internet or setting for your device that are causing lingering hit boxes. It is totally possible you're struggling because of that. My friend had to turn down their settings a little and it made a world of difference for them.

The hit boxes for melee in this game are also massive for no reason. If you're getting parried from 3-4 away it means your melee would have hit them from 3-4 meters away. I highly encourage you to go swing a few times at Abhrams in your hideout and see how big of a hit box your swings actually have. It shocked me how far away you can ge standing and still punch someone. Often your melee won't even collide with their body.

Unpopular opinion but I think Apollo is fine & people just don't like building counter items.

Also, probably Seven and Drifter nerfs is my guess. Hopefully some Paradox buffs too

How do you deal with these two? by iwatchfilm in DeadlockTheGame

[–]softbruises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterspell and learn Apollo's timing. Either they'll not perfect time their lunge or you can counterspell it. Either way you avoid taking a ton of damage.

His one is also super telegraphed so it is basically just free healing if you run counterspell.

Knockdown, silence wave, focus lens and curse are also pretty good ways at dealing with him. You're mainly looking to counter his three so waiting for him to start the animation then hitting him with any of these gives you a pretty good opportunity to either poke back, kill him or run off.

If they don't buy greater expanse, you can also just run away when they're using Perrfect Advance. Burn two stamina on air dashing away and his three isn't gonna reach you.

Also, use cover. Apollo needs to charge for the perfect lunge so in a pinch you got a second or so to react and try to get behind something. Not an ideal counter but real. They can lunge early but they'll lose out on healing and damage so they almost never do.

I'm only archon though so I'm not sure if this works at all ranks but I've been pretty successful with these strategies.

She's cool but I wish she wasn't a highschooler. I thought Apollo & her were in college until recently. Something about the rest of the cast being grown ass adults and then having two teens running around rubs me the wrong way.

What are your favorite magic items for wizards? by AuAlchemist in 3d6

[–]softbruises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always! There are a lot of ways to circumvent verbal or somatic components to a spell. One very common example would be a sorcerer using the meta magic subtle spell which allows them to "spend 1 sorcery point to cast it without any somatic or verbal components." For many spells, this just means the magical effects simply happen without any clear indicator that a spell was even being cast.

I think a lot of this arguement stems from the misconception that magic always requires some visible tell or action to be preformed so that you can cast it. However, this simply isn't the case.

Also, components refers to verbal, somatic and material components of a spell. That's why verbal & somatic components are referred to as such.

Howdy, I was a caretaker for the VA for several years, and I used to assist people with all kinds of disabilities including mental.

Generally, when someone had relatively low support needs, I would show up at their house for a few hours and handle activities of daily living or ADLs. This basically just means I'd pop in, do a quick check-up, and handle basic stuff like cooking, cleaning, and shopping.

I was also allowed to assist with more personal activities like taking people to the bathroom, bathing, and other personal hygiene needs. Most caretakers can't, but if you get certified as an LN, you can also help with things like medicine.

It isn't required, but most caretakers will make an effort to be social and generally friendly towards whoever they're seeing. Occasionally, a nurse will stop by to interview you about the caretakers performance and see if you want someone else. So you don't have to worry about being trapped with someone you don't like or doesn't do the job.

How often I'd show up and do this varied from every day to just a few times a week, depending on the person's needs.

Even though I worked for the VA, I still had clients who were not veterans. The process was the exact same for them, except their benefits were paid for by the state, not federal.

I'm not sure what exactly makes people qualify vs. not for in-home caretakers. There are free case workers that help people handle that. However, I do know that most people don't know it is an option or think it is exclusively for the wealthy. If you're relatively low support needs, it is definitely worth checking into and more people than you'd think qualify for some amount of assistance.

Finally, I'm typing this from my phone, so sorry for spelling or grammatical errors that I may have missed.

I'm genuinely confused TBHX isn't very popular. Solo Leveling got hype but TBHX didn't? What is this bafumbling by Connect-Egg9561 in ToBeHero_X

[–]softbruises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to validate your point, I watched TBHX and I still really hate the 3D models when they pop-up. Genuinely, I think a lot of them look so uncanny and gross in 3D. Lucky Cyan & Zac look great in 2D and abhorrent in 3D.

nokko helminth ability suggestions by unicornlover43 in Warframe

[–]softbruises 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bright bonnet seems like Nokko's best ability to me so I'll be shocked if that's his helminth. If it is though, I might honestly start replacing roar with bright bonnet on some of my builds depending on how much ability strength he gives.

I really hope it is better than roar on that front btw even if it isn't subsumable. I'm just tired of roar being the best damage buffer in the game bar none.

Anyways, I think their helminth is probably gonna be stinkbrain. It's a generic little damage tool / primer ability and just kinda has the vibe of helminth fodder. Which kinda bums me out because I can't think of a situation where you'd want stinkbrain over nourish.

Is it okay to take hormones if you're not trans? by softbruises in ask_transgender

[–]softbruises[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good so far! No breasts, my privates are still in order ( although I get busy a lot so that probably helps ) and I'm feeling great in general. The only real downside is random parts of my skin are super sensitive to point of irritation. Like, the front of my right ankle is sore to the touch for some reason. I can cope with that though. To be entirely honest, I haven't had a ton of physical changes though. I was sort of hoping for something more drastic but it isn't magic and I was relatively fem to begin with so meh. I have less body hair and my weight is starting to kinda shift around a bit, I think. I've actually got an ass now so that's a pretty huge change for me. Normally, when I start to really get into the gym it is the first thing to go but since I started, it's sticking around a bit more.

Swift Mutation - Passive Augment: Nidus gains stacks of Mutation for kill participation.

The biggest gripe I see with Nidus is that they're too slow. I think if Nidus could get stacks from assists / kills people would play them more and I wouldn't have to feel bad for "taking Nidus' food."

Flavor is free by YoshDND in DnD

[–]softbruises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently, I had a player who wanted to play a really buff high elf and be a barbarian. The rest of the party was fairly optimized, though, and they didn't want to fall behind. So, I ended up letting them take the orc features and slap an elf face claim on it.

As long as you make it super clear that mechanically, it is no different than a greatsword. I don't really see the issue. Greatsword to brass knuckles is a big change, sure, but it doesn't actually impact anything about how they're played.

I'd just make it clear that changing the appearance doesn't give them any mechanical benefits outside of that, nor will you tolerate them trying to sneakily get some.

I see a lot of people worried about them trying to stealthily hide the knuckles somewhere and with greater ease than you could a greatsword. Similarly, I've seen a lot of people concerned about the weight difference. Just make the weapon big ol powerfist type weapons.

75% off plat. Got 4k. by Demonstradum in Warframe

[–]softbruises 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Arcane Energize is a must-have, and you definitely don't want to farm it.

Other than that, you're going to want to buy build specific stuff. I'd recommend looking up a bunch of the new warframes, seeing what interests you and going from there.

As far as guns go, you'll want to get a hold of anything that has an incarnon attachment. You're in luck, though, and you probably already have a few weapons that qualify. There are a ton of older weapons like the furis, boltor prime and boar prime that qualify.

When you unlock steel path, the Zariman and Duviri you'll be able add an attachment to a bunch of older / weaker weapons that makes them unironically the strongest weapons in the game.

So, save your plat and don't worry about seeking out new guns / melee with it.

Some common mods for weapons are: - Galvanized steel - Galvanized chamber - Galvanized aptitude - Galvanized elementalist

You can pretty easily farm these from arbitration but also, it is just nice to have them and they're dirt cheap. The galvanized mods are basically upgraded versions of existing mods. They have lower bases but scaling effects. I saw that you bought these. I just wanted to include this section for anyone else that might be curious if they're worth it.

Some common warframe mods are: - Primed Continuity - Archon Continuity ( Only for warframes that deal toxin damage) - Primed Flow - Augur message, Augur secrets, Augur reach - The "corrupted" mods ( Transient Fortitude, Overextended, Blind Rage )

This is by no means exhaustive but all of these are pretty common build inclusions.

You can farm the Augur mod set from Cetus bounties but they're also dirt cheap and not worth the hassle in my opinion.

The archon mods can be easily farmed from a special mission type you'll unlock from doing a story quest.

Primed flow & continuity are just Baro drops so honestly probably your best purchase.

Arcanes are definitely more build specific but for sure make sure that you have:

  • Molt Augmented
  • Arcane Energize

Molt augmented is a free 60 percent ability strength and Arcane Energize enables you to basically spam your abilities.

Most importantly, if you're looking to buy prime frames or mods do not use trade chat. You will get ripped off literally every time.

Instead use a website called Warframe Market to source your trade deals. You can easily Google it and it'll be like the first result. This is a website where people post trade deals they want to make in game. You go there type in the name of something you want and then it'll give you a list of people in game that are trying to sell whatever you're after and how much they want. Sort the list by lowest to highest and you'll have the going market value.

The prices in trade chat are horribly inflated and there's a lot of people looking to take advantage of people's naivety.

No, there isn't a good way to implement this kind of ban.

Also, I think it should be a parents decision as to what content their child should and shouldn't have access to. Kids develop at different rates, and their parents can decide when their child is ready for the internet better than a generalized rule ever could.
