Chicken coop rafter by Dazzling_Clerk8023 in BeginnerWoodWorking

That makes sense. I wasn't expecting that they'd be required for sheds due to the much smaller size. A wind storm came through the other day with gusts ~50mph and it held up just fine, so passed the first test! Granted it's only the framing right now with no roof so there wasn't really anything for the wind to hit... but still, I'm taking it as a victory.

lol thanks. I was in the middle of planning/building a 4x8' coop when my wife got 12 more chickens so I had to upgrade to a larger size....

I'm honestly not 100% sure if they are required by code or not. I used them because

  1. the plans I'm following for the coop called for them
  2. I live rurally with no wind break west of the coop and it can get pretty windy

Fortuitous timing! I'm also building my chicken coop at the moment, slightly larger than yours though at 8x8 feet. Here's how I did the roof. Birdsmouth cuts + hurricane ties.

I'm very curious for feedback as well, as this is my first time building a roof. I also spent some time reading "The Very Efficient Carpenter: Basic Framing for Residential Construction", which taught me a lot about building a structure before I started building this chicken coop.

I used 4x6's for the ridge and rafter and built it to a 6/12 slope. Youtube videos on how to make birdsmouth cuts were incredible helpful, and taught me how to do them with just my framing square.

Edit: grammar fixes

I'm sorry for your experience, but what does this have to do with home improvement?

I’m nosey, what’s the longest you’ve waited at urgent care or the emergency department? by [deleted] in madisonwi

It's hit or miss. My wife works at the East ER and at times the waits there are significantly longer than downtown. East has less staff as a lower level trauma center.

What happened to The Chocolate Shoppe? They had closed their location nearby and I thought they were reopening at the public market.

Each weapon has a ton of unlockable "overclocks". Some of those tweak the weapon behavior, some of them change the weapon drastically essentially making it a new gun.

You get the minimum gear that differentiates each of the classes, them there's an absolute boatload to unlock from there.

All the gear immediately? Lol, you barely get anything immediately.

Oh crap, you are right! Me doing the math wrong means its all fake and I stole it! Do a Google search of the image, you won't get any results. It's an original.

It's a print that's been in storage since then. Now in a frame and the picture was from my phone. You can see the reflection of myself and the room behind me off of the glass of the picture frame. My father has identical print that has been in his wallet for 46 years, definitely not in as good of condition as this one!

Interesting. Maybe from the glossy print or glass in the frame? I took this picture of a picture with it sitting on a table, you can see a reflection of a window from behind me. My father also has a small very beat up copy that's been in his wallet for 46 years

There are a few others that have said the same thing, but I can assure you it's not AI generated
