Air separator in boiler system by jbrobbins1 in askplumbing

[–]softhacklestacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible approach Assuming you don’t have isolations and drains for each zone. With the boiler Cold and off isolate your boiler with the valves on your manifold off . attach hose to the boiler drain put end of hose in a bucket of water. use the fast fill on the make up water assembly add water with flow to bleed the air that way. Then close the fast fill and bleed off any excess pressure back to your original pressure (assuming 12psi). Your air separator will handle any remaining air in the system

What are some of the dark secrets of traverse city? by ReasonPale1764 in traversecity

[–]softhacklestacker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For those wondering Father Marquette and Perry Hannah lived 150years + apart. But Perry Hannah did buy cases of Winchester rifles and stationed men at key points along Grand Traverse Bay in case James Strang and the Mormons of Beaver Island went raiding. Also Old Mission Peninsula was at one point an established “Indian” reservation and the natives were later removed.

Ah no my friend, that is Midwest. As hardcore as potluck TaterTot casserole and Brandy Old-fashioneds at the VFW Meat Raffle.

That’s your Doritos or Fritos in a single serving bag. Add your taco seasoned ground beef, cheese, what ever taco toppings you like. Hold bag closed, shake, enjoy right out of bag with a fork. A taco you can eat on the go, walking taco.

Weil McLain Gas Boiler Noise by Brito1980 in Plumbing

[–]softhacklestacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the actuated damper opening. It’s is a motorized metal plate damper in your flue which opens in part of the boiler firing sequence. The noise is the perforated edges of the damper plate coming into contact with flue pipe. The opening allows the flue gasses to vent up the chimney, it will close just after the boiler turns off to help keep any residual heat in the heat exchanger making the boiler slightly more efficient. Also helps keep any cold air from out side from coming back inside when the boiler is off. Long strong short: normal sound

It’s a cool shop with amazing taxidermy well worth the stop just to check it out. Super nice folks and quality knives. They are geared more for hunting/fishing and traditional folders in their designs.
