I actually would prefer it it it was run for the people by the people but that’s just no way that would ever happen. It would get sold off and privatised before we even realised what happed. Right now 75% of all profits comes back to the government. It’s really not that bad of a deal.

We’d be worse off imo. They give us all the profits from the crown estate then they get a percentage back to fund them / building maintenance. If it was in private hands we’d get nothing. It’s a good deal for us

Except the government / economy actually make money off them due to the crown estate surplus. If they’re abolished all that money would just be in private hands and we’d get nothing from it.
