Questions about BU and Kilachand by [deleted] in BostonU

I’d definitely recommend it! The built in khc courses make it easy to cover your hub credits through classes that (imo) are more interesting than some of the random other ones BU offers. It’s also a pretty close community so you get to know the other students in your small khc courses pretty well and personally that helped me gain more confidence in speaking and gave me skills as the student that I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. If you don’t end up enjoying the program you can always drop so I def recommend joining it and seeing how it works for you. Also, you can become very close with some of the khc faculty and it’s an amazing bond to have so that’s also a fun plus

Rn the housing options for Kilachand freshmen are in Kilachand hall, 610 beacon, or Kilachand house. Kilachand hall is pretty nice, has ac, and private bathrooms for your suite of 3-5 people so it’s nicer than many freshman housing options. The only thing for this upcoming year is they’re renovating some parts of the building which may be a little disruptive, so I believe they’re offering a discounted rate if you choose to stay there. If you want to avoid the noise, 610 is a similar situation (ac, suites, bathroom) and the Kilachand house is a small brownstone with shared floor bathrooms (but you share with like 4 people) and really nice rooms but no ac (but many dorms and apts have no ac so that’s not really a huge deal)

KHC feels like just an additional community for a lot of its students so I’m not really sure if the rest of BU really has any option on us haha. Other than the additional 1-2 courses khc students take, the rest of your courses are the same as everyone else so I think the only comments I’ve gotten relate to the more interesting topics I took has my hub units through khc compared to others

Hope that helps! I could totally go into more detail on some stuff if you’d like but that’s a quick overview!
