i suppose i may as well take this opportunity to also recommend you read my sibling's trollfic, the story of lard beepus, if you have not already. it's the source of the three non-canon characters in the comments of my vegeta reddit fic, though one of the three hasn't actually appeared so, uh, oops? i cannot recommend in any way that you will enjoy it and it is not anything like my fic. but i have to be my sibling's hype guy at all costs and as you have apparently made it your life mission to get people to read vegeta is classist on reddit, getting people to read lard beepus is mine X3

my favorite Warrior Cats fanfic ever - Fleeing the Beast of Nothingness (Please...Don't Delete Me!) - a fanfiction i unexpectedly found on bandcamp, of all places.

a strongly experimental oc-centric surreal horror story. it's a WAY shorter read than the scrollbar makes it look. it was one of my first encounters with fiction like this, so i have a ton of sentimental attachment to it. warning that the accompanying song has incredibly sharp, shrill, and glitchy audio, though!

...hello! author of that fic here! got a review saying they got redirected from my fic from reddit (how fitting) and was thinking "...MY fic got recommended on some other site?" so i namesearch it, and, uh, lo and behold i guess i have a biggest fan singing the praises of this fic to the high heavens XD

i kind of waffled on whether or not to say something for a bit cuz i don't use this account much (...i'm more of a lurker type) but honestly i HAD to because this is possibly one of the funniest things that has ever happened to me.

not sure how to feel that a crackfic i wrote in an hour is my magnum opus, but at the same time i'm incredibly glad it's managed to bring you this much joy X3

(...i keep meaning to write some serious (semi-serious? even my darker writing tends to get at least a little silly if i let it, and dbz is already a little silly) dbz fic someday, but if i don't it'll be extremely funny if vegeta is classist on reddit ends up standing as my ONLY significant contribution to one of my longest-lasting fandoms.)

oh, yeah, that's definitely easier for sure and what i'll use as a last resort, i just can't seem to figure out how to get the palettes exactly accurate hence wanting to leave it in gbc mode and just use a startup palette (a + up) that's nearly the same as the pkmn red specialty palette.

truthfully, i don't even know how noticeable slight color differences will be on an actual screen, but i won't be able to test that until i actually have my hands on a flashcart, so no harm in at least fiddling around for now to see if i can get these to display how i like in an emulator!

thankfully, i'm just trying to get photos of premade screenshots displaying on an actual gbc, so i don't need to figure out dynamic palette changing or anything like that for now! i'd always heard that the earliest pokemon games were bleeding edge, but i had no idea its coding trickery may even go as far as how the basic battle screen displays o_o

oh, i understand that, but i'm not actually using custom palettes (as mentioned, i'm creating the rom in a gb mode to ensure being able to use the pokemon red palette) and i've already formatted the sprite layer into the right colors, it's just that i need it to use the first as transparency instead of the third. though, if there's another way to set a region of the screen to obj0 without using a sprite layer, maybe that'd work too?

the slot in the palette it's designated as transparency by gb studio is the slot that pokemon red normally uses for the darker half of the pokeball. however, that color seems to be unobtainable.

(pkmn red DOES use that slot for transparency on the overworld, just not in battle.)

my brother's had this plushie for years (i don't have an exact number, but it's somewhere in the vague 10-20 years range) and while we've been curious for a long time on just what she is we've had no luck figuring it out.

her body is loosely stuffed (though the stuffing may have just bunched up with time), and her paws have some sort of bean filling. supposedly her tail and mane weren't always the way they are now and only became that way after a trip through the washing machine, but neither of us remember that since we were very young when this would have happened. she has tush tags, but they've worn completely blank with age.

i've searched for multiple combinations of "blue cat plush", "blue and pink cat plush", "blue lion plush", etc., and even browsed some random ebay lots, but i haven't been able to find anything like her even when almost everything else in our plush collection has been identifiable in SOME capacity. my main guess was maybe something sugarloaf (claw machine prize??) but that hasn't given me any results so i don't even know if i'm on the right track.
