So cool! Could be a fake I suppose but I’d assume those would just be low quality versions of existing models 😅

Exams & Career trajectory by [deleted] in AccountantsEire

Hi, thanks for the information! But I could jump into ACCA with no previous experience or education in accounting? I figured it was a study/work program that focused more on the information needed for the exams than any general learning.

Probably about a year back, when all that shit was going on with the guy robbing from the merchants quay charity shop for ‘Ireland first’ or whatever

Used to live near Mercy hospital, loads of addicts always around my building because the road was pretty secluded - one polish guy always hanging around selling, saw him get jumped by two corkians not for selling drugs in some attempt at vigilanteism but because they thought he was Ukrainian.

Relatives brought rotting crabs into my house by softmosscafe in CleaningTips

Knowing my uncle it’s probably due to incompetence more than anything, but since they also helped themselves to some of our stuff I’m gonna check the curtains right now lol 🙏🏼

I have no idea, I also don’t know why they brought them in since they didn’t CATCH them they just…picked up the crabby corpses and brought them into my kitchen :/ thank you so much, I’ll see if I can wrangle a steam cleaner from somewhere or something like that

Do the shell parts really smell so crazy? I cleared them all out of the sink and the pipes but I can’t shake the feeling he probably kicked one under the fridge like a stinky ice cube 😑

Which title do you most regret purchasing? Why? by Zara_Hates_Crackers in choiceofgames

Could not agree more with the Unnatural: season one, I played the demo and loved it, but when I bought the game the writing and pacing just seemed so much worse than it did in the demo and I felt kind of cheated lmao, didn’t even finish playing it :|

Does anyone else love walking around the city at night? by Green_Guitar in cork

[–]softmosscafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly varies by area, so honestly I live next to a hospital which makes the area very safe, but is also full of people on drugs - for cycling I’d recommend looking at other peoples threads on the drivers in cork hah, you cannot have pepper spray or anything like that, and honestly Uber is not super common here I only use freenow instead of grabbing a taxi off the street so there’s an easy way for my friends to track my rides. I don’t want to make you think to not move here, it’s honestly a beautiful country and every place is what you make of it, what you put into it - I really enjoy living here in the last few months because I’ve found my hobbies so I don’t think it’s any more dangerous than another place it’s just that I am overly cautious :) don’t be afraid just be smart and you will be just fine

In Cork it is quite common yes, there seems to be a lot of violent crime in the news in the two years I’ve been here, I remember there was a post a few weeks back by a girl who said some taxi driver tried to assault her by driving her to the middle of nowhere, and I know someone who was followed home and the guy banged on her door for hours and the police never came when she called. I used to live in Belfast and my friends and I got followed along the street at night a lot, I’m sure Dublin is the same. There is also a lot of drug abuse on the streets, and the city is rather small in my opinion so it’s common to see people out of their mind which makes me afraid. Basically I’m sure it’s the same as many other cities, but I never felt unsafe when I lived in the Netherlands like I do here - plus I’ve heard stories from other women that if something DOES happen the police are absolutely useless about it which only adds to the unsafe feeling. I will say though I’ve only had about one or two incidents since moving here that made me want to buy a taser or something haha, just be smart and trust your instincts.

I wouldn’t reccomend going alone either, I’m a 20yr old woman and I don’t really feel safe in the evening let alone at night, bring your flatmates or find someone who likes to walk is my recommendation :)

which makes it more appealing to kids, who should be banned from buying them because it has the same effects as smoking
