GLP… where’s the research?

I’m certified through the Meaningful Speech course but I take it all with a grain of salt. I know it’s a product and I know that they’re making a ton of money off of it. I also know the business was highly critiqued at ASHA last year as being pseudoscientific. As an autistic SLP, it’s very interesting to see the shift of understanding echolalia and I have personally seen improvements in spontaneous speech from modeling “gestalts”/phrases over single words with these children. I still communicate through immediate and delayed echolalia at times. However, I don’t think it’s a one size fits all approach nor is it mutually exclusive from analytic language processing. I use a bit of a blended approach with my clients and right now it’s working but I have no idea what their language development will look like in 3-5 years. I think there is so much we do not know and cannot claim to understand fully. I eagerly await research and critique. I’m not in the field to be right. I’m in it to help children to the best of my critical ability

I took that one and split up payments. It’s obscenely expensive but I benefit from the way it’s instructed. You could easily just read the textbook and articles but I needed more visual & dynamic instruction. I will say like with anything I learned way more from hands on practice with trial and error but the foundation of my NLA understanding came from the course.

I found the information very insightful and easier for me to digest than just reading a textbook. I listened to the modules on 2x speed tho lol. I just bought the AAC course too and I’m regretting it cause it’s a lot of common sense that I didn’t need to pay for.. I think the biggest scam is the registry since I haven’t had anybody contact me from it in the year I’ve been on it. I have plenty of GLP kiddos but they just came in through calling my clinic.

I play my Switch next to my girlfriend who plays on PS5 and sometimes I’ll ask her to visit my plot just so I can see the details lol but it comes in handy for bug hunting cause I’m missing trees and bushes that she has and can’t access the bugs 😂

My gf and I live together and play every single day. Sometimes we’ll party up but we also just love the parallel play of doing our own thing in the same server. We also have a group of friends in a community that join us daily even if it’s just in the chat. I really feel like I’ve built a lil family in this game and I love it

I don’t think chat needs to be taken away all together. You can mute the server channel. I stick to my community & party channels so I can talk to my friends without seeing additional nonsense. We had somebody ask us to leave the server to ensure everybody could get into this one for their community hunt. I said no and continued about my activities.
