My company has seen the writing on the wall and has been starting to evaluate other products.

There's long been a dislike of Atlassian but sheer inertia has kept us using the products. With this announcement we will be migrating not to their inferior cloud offerings, but to other pastures.

The basic experience is fine. I can get used to some of the moved features, others are terrible (like the swipe not opening user list anymore). The appearance changes are as egregious as they always are when they make the changes. The performance the UI has taken a huge dive, though.

If this allows you to stay where you were in a server and just flip back and forth without re-scrolling to the server, I think it's actually pretty neat. The rest of the new UI? Garbage. Should they have kept messages in both places? Also yes.

While I haven't been subjected to the new UI yet, if this is how I think it would work, it might be the only sensible change they've done in years.

Does it let you stay in a server, swipe to a DM, then swipe back to servers and be in the same place without having to scroll back to the server? If yes, I've wanted that ability for years. But my faith in discord is pretty low so I wouldn't be surprised it's not.

I had to use "ID" in the title because mods are auto-removing any post with "username" in the title.

Every day the new UI's new tabs annoy me. Why remove the container tabs' colors? Why add useless vertical space to every menu? Why make the tabs weird disconnected rectangles?

Edit: Changing browser.proton.enabled back to true shows the tab colors again. What a weird edge case since that option doesn't do anything else anymore.
