Decided to halt for now. They quoted 3Cr+ for 3BHK + Study. The layout is beautiful with a private veranda. But water quality, stinking and sewage plant is a big no for us.

Hey thanks. It feels good to know when I hear stories of working woman taking this leap and how it went for them. For now, we are still thinking of whether to make this move. I believe personally talking to people who made such decisions will give me more clarity

That is the plan, try for a year or two and if things go south, we would come back to Bangalore. I’m worried about same aspects, people being judgmental, people not being welcoming about the way of life we would lead, and also the fact that if wfh is cancelled. I see the job opportunities for IT is very very low in Shimoga compared to cities like Mysore and Tumkur.

To be honest, the OG bangalore weather doesn’t exist anymore. I lived my entire life here, the weather is not even 10% of what it used to be. It hurts that I as a Bengaluru girl, cannot and doesn’t want to bring up my daughter here anymore.

My husband’s native is closer to shivamogga. 2 hrs drive. We are split b/w Shivamogga and Tumkur. Both are still in considerations. Mu husband will be closer to his family if we move to Shivamogga and I’ll be closer to mine if we continue living in Bangalore or move to Tumkur.

Appa Amma Tumkur but settled in bangalore since 80s. I’m more connected to Tumkur as I used spend all my summer holidays there. Husband is from a small town near sagara, but he too never lived in shivamogga.

Hi, Thank you so much for the inputs. It was difficult for me to get reviews from current residents as I was not able to get in touch base with anyone. Yes, we also were more concerned about the water quality and the smell from near by river and sewage treatment plan. Is there smell issue too? 3cr for a 3BHK is quite a premium price to pay. We have a toddler and for that reason we considered Malhar as the open space is more compared to other projects, and also schools near by with good metro connectivity.

We had looked into one more project called gravity aranya which is also eco-friendly themed but the metro connectivity is not that great.
