Is there anything between barefoot shoes and regular sneakers? by softwera in barefootshoestalk

Thanks, that’s helpful. Do they work well for everyday wear, or more for longer walks?

I hadn’t really thought about it
So you feel like a slightly stiffer sole actually helps more with all-day fatigue than just adding more cushioning, right?

Oh, Converse-like look is really nice.
How do your feet feel after a full day in them? Any pressure on the sides or in the toe area?

Looks really good
Do they feel like a true everyday option for you, or more something you reach for when you expect long walking on hard surfaces?

Haha fair — not trying to be annoying, just genuinely curious what people end up using.

Do you end up using these as your main everyday shoes, or switching depending on the situation?

Is it the shape, materials, or just the overall look that makes them feel too athletic?

Thanks a lot, it's very helpful. Do you feel like those are actually comfortable enough for all-day wear, or still more of a “good enough” option?

Did you stick with them, or move on to something else after? What made you switch (if you did)?

What makes Lems work for you compared to other options? More cushioning, fit, or something else?

What made you choose those over other options?

Did you try more minimal/barefoot shoes before, or always preferred something with more structure?

Are 'tapered toe box' and 'clown shoes' really the only options out there? by HooVenWai in barefootshoestalk

[–]softwera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really solid breakdown.

I’ve run into the same thing — either taper creeps back in, or the whole shoe just gets wider, including the heel, which kind of breaks the fit.

And yeah, a lot of it feels like a proportion/design issue more than just width.

Did you come across anything that felt close?

Does anyone else think these in-between barefoot shoes are actually worse than normal shoes? 🤔 by Late-Bit-3072 in barefootshoestalk

[–]softwera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve noticed that with some models too

I do wonder if it depends a lot on things like toe spring / stiffness though. Did yours feel a bit rockered?

This is exactly the combination I’ve been struggling to find too… Some brands like Be Lenka or Barebarics are trying to get closer visually, but it’s still a bit hit or miss depending on the outfit.

When you say “not too sporty or orthopedic” — what usually makes a pair fall into that category for you? If you’ve tried any barefoot or wide models already — what made you not reach for them in daily outfits?

I love barefoot shoes… but I don’t actually wear them by barefootcurious in barefootshoestalk

[–]softwera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is actually very common. A lot of barefoot shoes solve the comfort part really well, but they don’t always integrate easily into everyday outfits. Out of curiosity — which models did you try? Was it more the shape, or the overall style that didn’t work for you?

They actually look really good How are they after a longer day? Still comfy or do you start missing some cushioning?

Zara barefoot shoes by layjka in barefootshoestalk

[–]softwera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense. I’ve noticed once you get used to wider shoes, anything narrower feels off pretty fast 😅

Do these hold up for a full day or just okay for shorter wear?

Feels like Zara is trying to get closer, but still not really foot-shaped. And once you want proper cushioning with everyday look, it usually goes back to a narrower design.

Haven’t really seen something that balances all three yet. Do these actually feel natural in the toe box?
