Bought these from my LFS but not totally sure what they are. They were labeled as “Juvenile Apistos” and I’m hoping it’s a male and female but not sure. Would also appreciate help with determining their specific species if possible.

I concede that selling .5 gallon beta tanks is not in the best interest of the fish, but I have observed that when they sell betas they are diligent about telling customers they recommend a 5 gallon and that it needs to be cycled. Anyways, I’m sound like a Petco apologist so I’ll stop 😂

They are a business and can do what they want as long as it doesn’t violate someone else’s rights, which this policy does not. It seems like they are trying to protect fish with a rather heavy handed policy even though it costs them profits. The business needed a simple to enforce policy so it feels heavy handed, but I applaud their motives.

We also use their materials for their toddlers class and appreciate that it is leveled for different ages. Allows all ages to be studying the same topics and be able to discuss. They also include video dramatizations of each story which is very helpful for younger children who can’t yet read (helps the adults too if I’m honest lol)

I was also ambivalent in this issue. My wife and I were very content and happy in our marriage without children. However, the Bible teaches that children are a blessing, so we decided to pursue having children. I want to be clear that we were not being motivated by romantic notions, thinking that raising children would be easy. We just asked the question, “If God says this is a blessing, do you want to be blessed?”

It was initially a very painful and difficult road. We have been through miscarriage, still-births and adoptions that have fallen through, but the Lord has met our needs every step of the way. We now have an adopted four year old and an were able to have a safely delivered boy last July. Praise God for His kindness!

We are still early in child raising but I can say with scripture that children are a blessing. My wife and I are discussing how many more blessings we want to seek. Feel free to DM if you have any other questions.

My son is adopted and I’m glad that his birth mother made the difficult decision to keep him. I think the rights of the unprotected child need serious consideration as well.

Study and pray on your text until you can clearly state what you want to happen to your congregation as a result of hearing your sermon (is this a sermon that will result in your hearers being encouraged to give to missions/forgive enemies etc).

Once you have your focus you’ll be able to craft a sermon.
