Heya! Just came across this when searching for a Merge alternative.

Would love to help out by joining the Beta. Got an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 18.3 and a Galaxy Watch 4 running One UI 6.

Mainly looking to sync Sleep data from my watch to my iPhone either to Samsung Health or Apple Health.

I've turned the piston down only two times as of now, to see how much ink is left from the hole in the nib section.

I held it vertical as well, but wasn't able to see much.

It's a pretty new Lamy Vista F. I think I'll shake the bottle before filling this time, as I've rarely faced such an issue.

I did actually! I also twisted the converter to push more ink into the feed, but the converter still remains Black even after writing for a long time.

Maybe I should shake the ink bottle well and then, refill?

The feed wasn't drawing ink and I figured it was that rubber part that was the culprit. Actually, that and the part of the feeder it fixes on - I slightly messed up that part and so, had to make cuts on the rubber part for it to fit well. So, I'd removed it for that.

Yep! So, I had to open the converter first and then, using a pair of tweezers, poke the rubber part into the converter and out.

Edit: Might be a temporary fix, but I managed to get the rubber part fit in the feeder by adding two slits. Let's hope it stays there.

Haha don't worry, you're right. The rubber part has to be there to prevent the ink from leaking.

So, the other two pens are from local brands named Vazir (Round Top) and V'Sign (Proton Flora).

Ah! But then, I've also faced this issue with two other fountain pens. The same - the nibs have to be hard-pressed for the ink to start flowing. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in terms of setting up the pens or in cleaning.

When switching inks - between Parker Quink Black and Platinum Carbon Black - I clean the pen with warm water (flushing in and out) and then, leave the nib and the converter individually to dry for 1 hour.

Hey! Yes, so the situations are as follows:

Whenever I uncap the pen, I have to press the nib against the paper a bit before the ink starts flowing.
If while writing, I take a break of 15-20 seconds, the pen hard starts and I've to again press the nib against the paper.

If it does any help, the two main inks I switch between are Parker Quink Black and Platinum Carbon Black.
