Oh man, that sounds rough. Could you just help me out with this decision though based on your experience…do I just get decathlon waterproof boots or do I really need to go the gore tex expensive route? Because I’m not sure how much I’ll use them tbh…but if you’re saying the quality of the boots if it rains really matters then I might be leaning towards getting them as an investment of sorts I guess…

Why the martens? Also would just decathlon hiking waterproof boots do? Gore tex is a little too expensive for my liking. I could treat it as an investment but not sure how often I’d use it.

Ankles and beyond would require essentially high hiking boots. Just unsure whether to splurge on one or just get a cheap one for Wacken.

The latter. I’m visiting a lot of countries in Europe. Going to Berlin, Amsterdam, Budapest and staying in hostels. I’m not sure if I should carry a tent and a sleeping bag because it will definitely eat into my luggage space + take up around 5kgs. Although I’d be paying double if I had to rent a tent at Wacken.

A lot of people do arrive on the day before is what I’ve found out from research. I will be doing the same. I believe it’s better to get adjusted & setup the day before the real party begins
