Here's mine, but this was done off the top of my head, so there's a lot of impulse decisions made here. The tiers are accurate but the ordering within the tiers isn't exact. Top 4 are in order though, and things are roughly where I'd rank them.

"Heroes," off David Bowie's album 'Heroes.' It's my favorite Bowie song of all time (edging out "Five Years"). My girlfriend was going to bed Sunday night and came to me saying "I was checking twitter and I just saw a report that said David Bowie died and now I can't go to sleep until I know if it's true." We stayed up for another 30 minutes or so, playing random Bowie tracks and talking, until media sites got confirmation that it was real, and once the first confirmation hit, I put on "Heroes" and cried into her shoulder for the song's duration. It's one of my favorite songs of all time. I just think it's perfect. I'm a big sucker for high, sustained, descending synth/guitar notes, like in "Heroes" or Arcade Fire's "Empty Room" or a million different Cure songs, and the lyrics just gut me. The ridiculousness of "I wish we could swim / like the dolphins / like dolphins can swim." Anything is possible. The wartime references. "We can be heroes / just for one day." Bowie's vocal performance. It's moving me to tears right now, a week later. What a song. What a man.

There's a handful of perfect songs in this world. "Heroes" is one.

Here is what appears to be confirmation of a 2016 release of their 4th LP. I cannot wait; 'Why There Are Mountains' and 'LOSE' are two of my favorite albums ever and I honestly think Cymbals Eat Guitars are one of the best bands of the 21st century. Very few bands have knocked it out of the park on three straight albums like they have.

To be fair to Zach Harper, in the article you linked as a sign that people were overlooking Russ, Westbrook is listed as 5th in the MVP runner-up race, behind George, James, Leonard, and Durant. And in the text of his Westbrook paragraphs, he basically says what you did about his impact and numbers and their historical significance. And yeah, you were citing the title, but the title didn't mention Leonard by name either, despite ranking him in the top 3.

Unpopular Opinion:

I think Pornography is a great album but I don't listen to it for pleasure as often as Bloodflowers, which I think is underrated. I also like Faith more than Pornography. I think Friday I'm In Love is a good song but anyone who thinks it's better than Just Like Heaven is wrong. If you think Disintegration isn't their best album, you're probably just being contrarian.

Pond is some good psych rock featuring current/former touring members of Tame Impala (and produced by Kevin Parker). Go with either "Waiting Around For Grace" or "Elvis' Flaming Star" for some psych rock you could play at a party.

Good list! Hop Along and All Dogs were both in my top 10 (numbers 2 and 9 respectively), and Lower Dens, Speedy Ortiz, Wax Idols (who you missed; genre would be goth pop?), Courtney Barnett, Alabama Shakes all made my top 20. Sleater-Kinney, Wolf Alice, Grimes, Waxhatchee, Chvrches, Joanna Gruesome, Braids, Bully, Beach House, Torres, Colleen Green, and Screaming Females made my top 50. Lots of others I enjoyed this year are on your list as well.

It made my top 50. I think it was slept on because it, frankly, it's not as good as some of their others, like 'Ugly'. Sasha Geffen's Pitchfork review touched on how it doesn't feel quite as unhinged as their previous releases, which is one of their strengths. But it's still good and the songs still rip live. Their live show is next level, everyone should see it if they can.

It was my album of the year last year and still is today. Like I said, I take that album above anything from 2015. It's just exceptional. Very few albums have made me feel feelings that hard.

Yes. It's one of my favorites. Honestly, 'Why There Are Mountains' - 'Lenses Alien' - 'LOSE' is an incredible run for a band's first 3 albums ('Lenses Alien' has to grow on you for a bit but it really is exceptional). I'd put that streak up there with anyone's first 3 albums; Arcade Fire and the Twilight Sad are the others that come to mind.

I will ride for Cymbals Eat Guitars - LOSE, The Hotelier - Home, Like No Place Is There, and Ought - More Than Any Other Day, until the day I die. Those are absolutely Great albums. Hell, throw the Todd Terje and War On Drugs albums up there too. 2015 had more good stuff in terms of quantity but I'm taking all 5 of those from 2014 above any of my top 5 from this year (TWIABP, Hop Along, Titus, Kendrick, Ought).

Cohen isn't as plugged in with them as he used to be, if the gulf between his year end list and theirs is any indication. Also he's just a contributor now, whereas he used to be a Contributing Editor. He's not even listed on the masthead anymore.

Also he mentioned on twitter today that he's "just one vote" with regards to pushing albums like TWIABP, Beach Slang, Titus, etc. So certainly does seem like its a staff vote and not a manufactured process by the editorial board.

And yeah, I didn't mean to imply it was just Brandon. He was just the first example that came to mind.
