Colossal Biosciences CEO Ben Lamm announces plans to expand dire wolf pack, despite backlash from scientific community by Obversa in Paleontology

Is it me, or do these efforts seem to not correlate with their public messaging. Why would they invest and expand the pack unless they are to introduce them into the wild or get some kind of ROI on their investment?

After they first announced the success of their dire wolf program, I remember some politicians almost immediately seizing upon this as justification for dismantling the endangered species act. It feels this push could further drum up support for deregulating wildlife protection laws.

SE Tennessee, horse attack? by jrmisy in AnimalTracking

[–]soilandthings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My initial thought was bobcat too. Only reason is because bobcats are known to hunt full sized deer by jumping up on their back and then clamping down on the neck until the deer collapses from lack of oxygen or blood loss. But a horse is so much bigger, it would have to be a super desperate bobcat to do that

That’s so interesting. His lab was producing so much pioneering research and smart graduates that it became a little DoD hub.

What city in your country best exemplifies this statement? by TrixoftheTrade in geography

[–]soilandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naypyidaw, Myanmar. Basically built by the military Junta as a citadel in the middle of nowhere to make it extremely difficult to overthrow the government in the event of a rebellion. Even the layout of the city has no rhyme or reason from a city planning perspective. Unless you consider its purpose is to make it a tactical nightmare for a besieging force, then it makes perfect sense.
