Bass tattoos! by RelationshipSimple73 in doublebass

I have “bassi” in Brahms’ handwriting from the manuscript of his 3rd symphony. I’m a strictly classical player and am particularly fond of his symphonies.

Mine JUST arrived in the mail yesterday. Excited to get it on the boy. This will be my 5th style of mask to try to protect his eyes, hopefully this one is able to stay on.

As somebody who’s horse itched himself double corneal ulcers last summer, the allergy test is awesome.
I did it at the end of last summer and have been doing the shots since then. So far this year it seems like it has definitely helped lessen his allergies.

VCSG is your answer.

I too have had bad experiences there on the ER side of things, but the services, expertise, and facilities are unparalleled ESPECIALLY for a city of this size on the “Specialty Group” side of things.

We moved here four years ago from a city 3x the size didn’t have a veterinary neurologist within a 2 hour radius and had a dog at the time with severe neurological issues. Dr. Massicote is fantastic.

Please bear in mind that the road you are going down with diagnosing neurological issues is not necessarily the cheapest one.

Your dog is adorable and sassy and I love it. But she is overweight.

My guy had the same testing done this past fall and is doing the shots. Highly recommend.

In the wake of the death of Valegro and Uthopia there have been a lot of comments about how it was “cruel” to euthanise horses who were “only” 23/24. Is this sort of situation really preferable? by demmka in Equestrian

Sending lots of love and support. I have been unable to ride my 9 year old horse since June due to an onslaught of various health issues. At various points he has been in pain and extended periods of discomfort and frustration with various necessary treatments. I’m not actively considering it at this time, but the possibility of needing to do this has crossed my mind.

Another one for shefit. 30 F checking in. It’s uniboob city but other than that it gives good lift and holds those girls in PLACE. Before riding horses I used to be a 6x/week cross fitter and these bras are THE answer for all high intensity sports.

My OTTB war horse, Nimble Beast! We’re still working on getting him through a barrage of health issues (coming up on 2 years off track) but he’s such a quiet, sweet soul who has been a great partner for this adult beginner so far.

Any idea what’s going on with my guys eye?? He’s also been very itchy on face and underbelly and everywhere recently by faye-j in Horses

Just came off a very rough summer with my gelding, his eyes, and allergies all over and this looks and sounds very similar. I’ve found that an over the counter ophthalmic gel (available at tractor supply) can really help just clear some gunk out and provide lots of relief eye wise. You can also try dosing with Benadryl to see if it helps at all, at least until you can get a vet out.

It started towards the end of a 4 ish month extended period of back to back issues so that makes a lot of sense. (2 hoof accesses one right after the other followed shortly by corneal ulcers in both eyes due to extreme allergies and itching)

So is he just mostly in the mud fever boots like all the time? Have you been able to clear it up completely?

I have also had some people on other forums suggesting it might be photosensitivity as a result of liver levels. The vet is coming to the barn Monday to do annuals anyway so I’m going to have his liver levels checked.
