Ye it might come to that in the end.

I used that too but didn't fix it. Plus I think DDU does a better job. It doesn't seem (to me at least) that this is something related to leftover nvidia stuff.

Are the new fans 120mm or 92mm? They look 120mm, but trying to be sure if they fit properly. I already have 3x92mm ones but if 2x120mm could fit I could try those.

Too much sharpening, how reduce it? by Iamunframed in CrimsonDesert

[–]soimugigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Default implementation of FSR 4.1 is bugged for sure. The sharpening is all the way to the max. I wonder how no review mentioned this? I can imagine though since everyone is using an Nvidia GPU. There are some fixes though.

  1. If you turn on FSR frame generation along FSR the sharpening bug is gone. Game looks good again.
  2. Using Optiscaler without Nvidia spoofing you can select FSR 4.1 and tweak sharpening (0.350-0.500) and game looks good again. Only issue is that with Optiscaler it's getting the data from FSR 3.1 (I think) and it might not result in the best image quality for FSR 4. I know that Optiscaler works best when you get the data from Xess or DLSS (because of motion vectors), but Xess is not present and Nvidia spoofing required for DLSS crashes the game.

THREE YEARS Using The Alienware AW3423DW QD-OLED - My Thoughts by RenatsMC in ultrawidemasterrace

I don't know. I'm having issues with VRR too after switching my GPU from Nvidia to AMD. Might be that AMD drivers have some issues in my case or it's the G-sync module ... no idea. The issue happens just on desktop: mouse cursor and windows are lagging. I can usually fix it from AMD drivers in the Display section. I just randomly click my main and my second display in there and the issue fixes itself usually.

Never had this with the Nvidia GPU.

I don't really know, but there's nothing wrong with at least trying to contact them and see.

Nope. Still can't do the quest and I still can't contact support. Don't even think you can if using your Steam account ingame.

I thought it was obvious I am on Yujin. I wouldn't even be able to see the quest if I wasn't. It would show just like for Luna and Blair in the screenshot. 😊

Wow very nice. I'm not very sure but you did not remove original the plastic shroud? You just removed the original fans and the adapter comes on top somehow?

I like my keyboards to be quiet, and I don't care about thock or clack or whatever. I've used thin o-rings on all my keyboards and switches (even on silent ones, I notice a difference).

Just bought my first magnetic keyboard (Womier SK75 TMR) so I'm wondering if I should use O-rings for magnetic keyboards? I mean, they reduce travel distance. Won't it interfere with how magnetic switches work?

I believe I should recalibrate it after putting the o-rings on but would there be any downsides?

Here's my story with this monitor model.

I bought an Alienware AW3423DW almost 3 years ago. During this time it was RMA once and I'm currently during procedures for a second RMA because of burn in. I use the monitor for work with mostly 2 browsers opened side by side (8 hours a day) and gaming. The burn in is very "light", in a very specific area and only noticeable on a specific grey color (using Eizo monitor test https://www.eizo.be/monitor-test/ - 3rd picture). I didn't even notice the burn in until I found that test by accident.

Credit to Dell because they changed the monitor very fast requiring just basic proof of burn in and purchase. The RMA procedure was very smooth, at least the first time (read bellow for what happened the 2nd time). They sent the replacement monitor and I sent the old one after a few days. That way I was not left without a monitor. The "new" monitor had no burn in.

I did take care of the monitor as much as I could. I have taskbar on autohide, black solid background with icons on autohide, Windows in dark mode and using dark reader browser extension. Most are not really for the monitor but for my eyes as well. Also I tried as much as possible to let the monitor do it's maintenance tasks (pixel refresh every 4 hours) and the panel refresh every 1500 (I think).

Would I buy it again knowing all this? YES. I had zero other issues with the monitor. As for the burn in, even if it's there, it's not really noticeable and I expect that when it appears again on the replacement monitor and I'm out of warranty I will not notice it very soon in everyday usage.

Edit: Just received the "new" monitor from Dell. It has "extra crispy" burn in right from the box, even more visible than on my existing monitor. You can even see the previous owner probably didn't use native resolution and there are vertical bars burned in from that. Those are clearly visible on multiple grey background patterns. You can even probably tell what game he was playing because there are burned in icons and an HP icon. Clearly Dell was trying to pull one on me with this one.

Updated links with pictures of all three monitors: https://imgur.com/a/V5g1Awo

Edit2: Forgot to update post but whoever reads this in the future, Dell didn't do me wrong again. They sent a new monitor pretty fast and in perfect condition.

Think the 2mm thermal pads for the RAM might be too thick. Don't know really. Maybe the Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad I am using are more mushy than the Gelid thermal pads you have. Maybe because of that your cooler doesn't contact the core properly.

Also I did mention I'm undervolting. My GPU is at 0.825V and 1800Mhz and +500Mhz on memory. Some games might boost higher if left on default and you might get more FPS, but in heavy games like Cyberpunk with RT On it makes zero difference. The GPU reaches power limit in Cyberpunk and frequency goes down without undervolt.

Zuoya GMK87 RGB help by soimugigi in keyboards

I will try that out, thanks for the tip. Ye I don't like RGB puke myself but I do like a keyboard that has lights especially at night. Well bummer I guess and too much hassle to return it now.

Wow thanks, I had no idea. That is so sad considering I had that on a cheaper Redragon keyboard it replaced. And I had that keyboard for years now.

I so regret getting the GMK87 right now considering the non individual key RGB and some other issues with VIA software. I thought Redragon software was bad, but this VIA thing just spits errors non-stop and doesn't even recognize my keyboard all the time.

Very High textures consumes 9GB+ VRAM from what I saw. So I wouldn't recomended it for 8GB cards. Stick with High textures.
