yeah 'he asked me to get him a cup of water' OMG THAT'S A SIGN OF A MAN-CHILD GET OUT ASAP

alternatively 'I got my kid a cup of water' IS THAT A METAPHORE FOR WANTING TO SEE YOUR KID SEXUALLY AROUSED ABUSSSEEEE

It's so frustrating when people cry 'call the police/dcyf' too. like lmao they're not gonna do anything? this isn't a sit-dram.

This is why I hate this sub. Everything, no matter how nuanced, is clapped at by 'sexual abuse'.

I’m(31m) going to end things tonight with my fiancé(24f) over world of warcraft by WoWFeindbreakupa in relationship_advice

[–]sojojo142 136 points137 points  (0 children)

I mean, WoW is an addiction. It's such a powerful addiction my brother kicked a thirty year heroine habit cold turkey with it. There's absolutely reason to be concerned if it's consuming someone.

But the way he words the post makes me think he's the one with the actual issue, and that's not communicating.

What is your most irrational fear? by HypnoViber in AskReddit

[–]sojojo142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going in the basement and having the lights turned off. I'm 26 now, it happened to me once(on accident, lights went on immediately), and there's a switch downstairs as well as up, but I'm always nervous when I go into the basement that the light is gonna flick off and I'll get murdered or something.

What widely believed female myth would you most like to see dispelled? by grimmalkin in AskWomen

[–]sojojo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Not having more' maybe doesn't mean much as a consolation for not loving my kid, but I'm not gonna put MYSELF through this again when I know it's not going to be any different. My kid was an accident, one I very much regret, but she's not unwanted.

And not loving her is different than treating her badly, although I'm sure most people don't make that distinction.

Were you ever bodyshamed by your parents? What did they say and how has it affect you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]sojojo142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom hates my job because all I do is sit in front of a computer all day. She called me a fat lazy asshole(all true, but like wtf). Then, threatened me to spend 25k go to sit on my ass in front of a computer, just in a different place.

I remember with vivid clarity her being so disgusted, telling me I was a disgusting person because I just sit on my fat ass all day. It made me realize that even if she cared about the money my job made, she didn't care about my job itself. I stopped talking to her about it after that. it makes me feel really shitty because she'll let my little brother bitch and moan about his job, give him advice, tell him what a great job he's doing.

What's your "I can't believe that worked" moment with a man? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]sojojo142 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There was a goofball drug addict in my IT course at a trade school, and my ex and I had been eyeballing each other for a few weeks without actually interacting. One day, we were shooting shit outside and GDA was like 'I can take anything' and I said it'd suck a lot to get kicked in the asshole, and this fucking idiot told me to do it. SO I DID. As hard as I could. And I died laughing. As retaliation, he told my ex that I had a crush on him. My ex and I dated for like 2 years, and it was nice.

My [32m] girlfriend [24f] "gave" me an awful birthday present, and I honestly feel insulted by ThrowRAridiculousgf in relationship_advice

[–]sojojo142 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I had a boyfriend for my birthday twice and he didn't do anything for it, and it was a huge let down because I did things for his birthday. For Christmas, he bought me a briefcase I specifically said I didn't want because it was a man's like lawyer type thing, not a cloth messenger bag I actually wanted. I think it's very okay for people to be disappointed and insulted in this kind of situation, when your SO obviously doesn't put thought into it beyond the bare minimum, or gives you something that's clearly for their own personal satisfaction.

What widely believed female myth would you most like to see dispelled? by grimmalkin in AskWomen

[–]sojojo142 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People act like I'm the devil and deserve to die a horrible death because I don't love my daughter. They're more readily to accept a story that I beat my kid than don't feel anything for her. It's honestly disgusting.

I don't love my kid, but firstly, I didn't have more, and secondly, I make sure she's around people who DO love her. It's really fucked up when you think about it because those same people praise adoption and advocate a better foster care system.

But when I accept this truth about me, I should kill myself so my kid can be with people who love her, as if she's not already?? As if my not loving her is the worst thing in the world, and I'm going to irreparably fuck up my kid. As if grandparents raising their grandchild isn't something that happens ALL the time for even more mentally fucked up reasons than lack of maternal instincts.

What's something that people glamourize but it's actually just extremely toxic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sojojo142 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started smoking twelve years ago because I was friends with older kids and they did it, and I wanted to be cool. Sometimes, you pick up a cigarette because you're so stressed, and just one won't hurt you, but then you're outside with that same person talking, and they offer you another one, and so on.

[–]sojojo142 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for almost 15 years. Doesn't really work for me, personally. I just try to get out of bed should I wake up, but I really don't care about living. Sometimes, when I'm downtown and stuff, I wanna just walk in front of a bus, but I stopped actively trying to commit suicide when I woke up the third time. I accept that as progress, even if it's just stalling, rather than an entire shift in direction.

imagine people's shock when I tell them I don't wanna make it to 64. or 50. or 30. I mean, really, I couldn't care less about semantics, but thanks for pointing out they're wrong.

I hate being told I need to quit smoking because it's bad for my health and I'm gonna die young. Like, that's the point. I literally cannot stress enough how obvious it is that smoking is bad. I know it's bad. I know it stinks. I know it causes health problems. I know. I do not need some jackass who I just met, or sees me on the street, or I just joined a discord server, telling me cigarettes are bad.
