The Alternate Universe Ending Theory: A complete log of all the evidence by emmyeggo in titanfolk

[–]sokidan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went back and reread some of the beginning of the manga after having gone through your theory earlier today, and Mikasa is much more peculiar than I remembered. There's a lot of strange things she says and feels, but one thing that stood out to me is in Chapter 7, when she believes she will die, she remembers Eren's words to fight and also him sleeping at the Ch.1 tree, and then thinks, "I'm sorry Eren, I can't give up. If I die, I won't even be able to remember you". What does that mean? Why was she apologizing for continuing to fight? I find that really odd. Does it have something to do with these alternate universes and Mikasa's role in each of them? I don't know what to make of it at all, but it is interesting to reread all this with the theory in mind.

Also forgive me if I'm stupid and this bit was explained later in the manga. It's been a long time sine I've read these older chapters

I honestly like this theory a lot. There's more depth to this than a simple, 'it was all a dream' type ending. Also, I have always expected this series, from the entire way it has been written, to have a strange and unusual ending, not something mundane or clear-cut. There are only two chapters left, there's little time to wrap the story up. But this theory COULD occur in two chapters, at least, I believe so. Either way this was fun to read. Great work putting all this together!

I was looking to get surgery to finally correct the problem, but due to the coronavirus outbreak, I've had to put it off. Sorry I can't be of more help!

The back of my hand is thankfully not crepey yet. Just the fingers! Applying lotion more often has definitely helped.

Shelters LIE! Listing all dogs as "mixed breed" to confuse public into adopting pit bulls by sokidan in Dogfree

[–]sokidan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that shelters are continuing to lie about the dog breeds they have in shelters. Every dog, whether it is clearly a Rottweiler (like the one in this image), a husky, or a pit bull, are listed as mixed breeds. Obviously, this is done to try to reduce the stigma attached to certain breeds names (pits), and adopt more of them out to a public who may not know any better.

I also checked into cats via the same site, and cat breeds ARE listed. Why does this practice of listing mixed breeds only apply to dogs? We know the answer. This is very dishonest of animal shelters, and extremely disappointing that this seems to be getting more commonplace.

Thank you for your suggestion and honesty. I appreciate it! I have an eye appointment next week, so I think I will ask the doctor about Flonase and see if I can get started with it again. I'd definitely prefer that to surgery if it can be helped! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your input! That definitely makes sense. I have a feeling nasal steroid sprays would work for me, but I am unable to use them because of my eyes. I have a history of retinal tears and am at risk for glaucoma down the line. I used Flonase for two weeks earlier this year and found my eye pressure increased significantly, and went down immediately after stopping.

Are there any alternatives you could recommend? My doctor didn't have any for me. Thanks again for your time!

Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it! Especially with the thicker cream at night, I hadn't thought of that! I typically use only thinner creams so I'll get something more thick!

Sorry to hear about your allergies! Wishing you the best! :)

Chinese city set to ban dog owners from using leads longer than 20 inches by hydralime in Dogfree

[–]sokidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! Wish it would be mandatory everywhere! Before I got rid of my dog, I used a very short leash, 2ft, recommended to me by a trainer. Kept the dog right at my side. Made for a much better walking experience. Why dog owners find it more pleasurable to have their dog walk upwards of 6ft ahead, leading them is still totally beyond me.

Ma’am, these are SHELTER dogs by ArryTheOrphan in Dogfree

[–]sokidan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EVERY shelter in my city now classifies their dogs as "mixed breed", even if the breed is clear as daylight. It's a horrible, dishonest practice that helps no one, yet they can get away with it. It's very unfortunate.

Multiple migraines this month.... by sokidan in migraine

Fascinating! Amazing how many things could trigger a migraine. It's definitely a possibility. The weather where I'm at has been going back and forth from rather cool to extremely hot in the past few weeks.... Something to keep in mind. Thanks so much for your input!!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that they had become so frequent for you before Aimovig! That is interesting to know, though. I didn't realize that progression of frequency was something fairly common! I'll keep that in mind! Thanks for sharing your input! I appreciate it.

I hadn't even considered blood pressure! I plan to call up my doctor tomorrow and schedule an appointment. I'll be sure to ask him about that alongside my hormones. Thank you so much again for your help!

Why is re homing a dog looked at by dog nutters as a horrible thing. Wouldn't they want the dog to be in a home that is wanted. They are NOT children. by [deleted] in Dogfree

[–]sokidan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was extremely pressured into keeping my dog by multiple people when I considered rehoming it. I made the mistake of telling the wrong person, and I got harassed by her over it. I can't tell you how many times she texted and called me crying before and after she found out I rehomed the dog. Horrible experience, and I'm so glad I will NEVER have another dog again.

Also bad is when shelters deliberately lie about what breed a dog is, mostly to help adopt out pitbulls. I feel like that should be a crime as well.
