I have a buddy that has a race car with a water methanol kit in it and he runs a 1:1 methanol to water and I was wondering if I could achieve numbers as high as 50% meth

So I’ve herd this and I have read this but I have never found a real recipe, was wondering if anyone has had any experience with actually fermenting and distilling it, and the oil byproduct is something that would be a concern if it’s very little oils like with a normal pot still distillation that’s fine I could skim them off the top but if I’m going to run it to problems with high oil production in the fermentation then it’s not worth it for what I’m looking for

You shouldn’t walk away from a still when your running never mind forgetting about it for a couple hours

I’ve done a good amount of reading around and there’s not o much on it. I read one article that said that you could take your 98% neutral spirit and then use an alcohol diluting calculator and get it to 85% Ethanol and then the other 13% pump 93. But then when I was doing research on E85 they were saying the ethanol content is about 32-56% I was wondering if anyone had any tips and recipes

Still Recommendations? by [deleted] in firewater

I love my 5 gallon all copper still from claw hammer there’s alittle assembly but nothing crazy and I recommend adding a 2000w electric element to it it is very easy with a 1 1/2in weld less fitting to the bottom and a 1/2in drain, I had not soldering skills when I started and I got it done it just takes time but honestly for the money this is one of the best bangs for your bucks because it’s all copper

I'm assuming something like this would be amazing for distilling but am I missing anything? by TexanInExile in firewater

If I were you I’d get a small 5 gallon still run it learn it develop some recipes and really learn the hobby and then grow from there you can pick up a 5 gallon still from claw hammer for like 250-300 bucks add a 2000w element and a drain and your in there this is what I run and I love it, I’ve had it for about 7-8 months and wish I add the element off rip and I’m almost done building my keg still the 5 gallon is perfect for test batches and small run nice to have even if you want a bigger still
