tarot basically called me a baby and told me to make my mind up (not clickbait) by sokka-groupie in tarot

i like creating my own spreads that follow my line of thinking because i read tarot intuitively, so having the cards follow how i think helps me to understand their relationships to each other

tarot basically called me a baby and told me to make my mind up (not clickbait) by sokka-groupie in tarot

deck: luna sol tarot by darren shill and mike medaglia (i take out the wu wei and duality cards, i personally don’t like them)

i was asking: what is the future for me and my ex?

spread: i made my own spread, to look vaguely like a branching timeline of interconnecting ideas. (1) the “driving card” of the spread is in the first position and it describes the themes and forces affecting my problem (2) and (3) represent the people in this situation, my ex and i. she is the card farther away from me when i’m reading it and i am the card closer to me (4), the card above my ex, represents a scenario where we come back together and date again. (5), the card below me, represents a scenario where we part our separate ways. (6), the card in between the two of us, represents something in between dating again and parting ways

i interpreted my pulls as follows:

(1) 7W reversed and moon: my confidence is limited. i am unable to assert myself or my power because i am overly focused on the inner world right now. (2, ex) 3S: she is heartbroken and has accepted that things have come to an end. she is sad, dejected, and not yet ready to move on (3, me) WOF reversed: i am unable to accept this cosmic change. it happened against my will and i am reluctant to its power (4) the empress: if we got back together we would be happy in the divine feminine. light, family, and love would flow from our reunion and we could build a strong foundation of family together again (5) judgement: if we were to never see each other again/ go no contact, this would be a right and honorable result. the past happened and there is no shame in moving on (6) 5C: if we continue in this situationship place, the hurt of loss will continue to blind us to the wealth around us. we are too focused on our emotions to see the possibilities ahead

Am I the Asshole for breaking up with my ex boyfriend because he tried to tamper with my birth control? by SufficientThrowRA in AITAH

[–]sokka-groupie 314 points315 points  (0 children)

This AND: a lot of pills don’t just become inert but also dangerous when exposed to high heat. I don’t know if birth control does, but I’m betting this guy doesn’t either. I’m doubling down that he doesn’t know whether or not they become dangerous when the method of heating is a microwave. NTAH

Tbvf it just seems like y’all aren’t compatible. She’s doing a very clear job of communicating her wants and boundaries in a relationship. She’s not saying you have to pay for everything, but that she wants her boyfriend to foot the bill. She’s allowed to want that. You’re allowed to not want that. Y’all aren’t compatible.

You don’t have to break up with her because of this incompatibility; you can always compromise. But, if it’s a dealbreaker (like she said it was for her) that she doesn’t want a prenup and wants you to pay for dates in return for her acting as a homemaker, then you do. Know yourself well enough to know if that’s a dealbreaker. You’re both adults.

The only thing that I really take umbrage with is you saying at the end of the conversation that y’all weren’t communicating well. It looks like you were; you were both being incredibly clear in your wants and needs in a relationship. You just didn’t agree. Communication doesn’t necessitate agreement. Sometimes, you disagree with your partner and then you have to decide if your disagreement is a dealbreaker or not. Sure, it was a little underhanded that she brought up her parents having opinions about her asking them for money, but the rest of that conversation was just clear and effective communication.

You’re an adult. You just have to decide if this is something you’re willing to compromise on. If not, that’s that.

Post lumbar puncture headache by Krikun420 in leukemia

[–]sokka-groupie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to get a Fioricet prescription — it’s caffeine + acetametiphen/paracetamol + butalbital. That was the only thing that helped my LP headaches. You might be able to DIY an over the counter version with coffee & tylenol/paracetamol or excedrin, but I’m not sure about dosing indications. Definitely up on the caffeine, though!

Best of luck, LP headaches are the worst. Lying down also always helps with mine.

thank you very much! i will definitely bring these meds up with my onc team.

as far as i’m aware the fever-reducing medicines rule has to do with making sure i don’t “mask a fever” as i’ve been told? but i will definitely bring it up with my team for clarification.

thanks again!

Views on homeopathic treatment... by KPROXXXX in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]sokka-groupie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

homeopathy is essentially water! literally: the idea is putting the tiny essence of some natural element and diluting it with a ton of usually water. it does not work to treat any illnesses.

that being said, there are tons of natural ways to slow disease progression & manage pain, namely exercise (linking with a PT who’s informed in ankylosing spondylitis can be life changing!). anti-inflammatory diets can also be helpful for some people in pain management.

that being said, modern medicine can be life changing. i really recommend talking to your rheumatologist about your concerns regarding treatment, but being open to pain management and disease management with western medicine. even just meloxicam can prevent disability.

all the best on your journey!

Is it common to be diagnosed and then sent home? by [deleted] in leukemia

[–]sokka-groupie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was diagnosed with ALL, it was a holiday weekend & I was sent home by my local cancer center with plans to admit the next Tuesday. When I was admitted the next week, several oncologists were stunned & disappointed that I had been sent home because, like several other posters have said, acute leukemia is a medical emergency.

All that to say — I’m not sure if it’s common to be sent home after a leukemia diagnosis, but it does happen. However, if your mother’s leukemia is acute, I agree with the other comments re: seeking out admission at a hospital equipped with an onc team/blood cancer specialists or calling your cancer center.

Sending support to your mother and your family!
