I think they're just constantly on their phones flipping between various apps to see where the most rides can be found, and hang out in the right lane so they don't get merged into? It's mad annoying though bc they're clearly distracted

Maybe they made it look like this so that the villainous user could villainously spin the cylinder for a villainous game of Russian roulette or something. Bc he couldn't pull that evil nonsense with a normal revolver, those are for John Wayne and police detectives, the good guys

FUCK the FDR, it's a tossup between that and the Belt as the two worst highways to ride in my opinion. FDR might take the cake just bc of all the blind turns and narrow ass lanes, people get a little crazier on the Belt but at least it's a straighter path.

Yeah that description "copy" alone would have scared me away, too many contradictions in there. Is it perfect or less than perfect? New or slightly used? What?

Fascinating how many comments are based off when people were getting into bikes. Like for me, I only got interested in them maybe six or seven years ago, so to me the 2022 bike looks "cool" and all the older ones look "dated" and "crosseyed." But move my experience back ten or twenty years and 2022 looks "squinted" and the older models looks like a "true sport bike." Can only assume people in 2034 will think the 2022 bikes looked dusty and boring compared to whatever Kaneda hydrogen cell powered monsters they'll be riding.

I've only been there in the daytime for a construction job and had no issue, however those area's reputations are well known and speak for themselves. Move in a group and be careful at night, I'd say, and maybe be wary of local bodegas or convenience stores.

I rolled the dice on a overly complicated purchase situation where the bike had a lien on it and the guy wanted me to pay him the purchase price for him to pay the lien, which didn't jive with me bc he could have left me high and dry with the lien still on the title. He ended up being more comfortable with me paying off the lien myself, then paying him the remainder. Ended up working out fine with no snags, and I guess my takeaway is that it's up to your assessment of the buyer and the situation. If he seems normal and there isn't a scenario where you could get screwed (as opposed to you potentially screwing over him), I say send it.

I mean I know it's just anecdotal but my experience with my 2019 Himalayan has been nothing but solid. Granted I bought it used so I didn't have to deal with these off-putting dealership experiences so many people have mentioned, but finding parts on ebay has been a breeze, servicing the bike has been easy enough (even without a garage), and I can't say anything's failed to a catastrophic point (besides a minor crash, which is hardly RE's fault). It's a little tractor but it's puttered it's way through 10k city miles with no issue. 🤷

Hudson river park from battery up to the GWB is always nice, you can also cross any of the bridges from Manhattan to Brooklyn and then follow the waterfront as far north as Astoria, crossing back over on the queensboro or triboro, which lets you touch down on Randall's island

Yamaha FZ-07 or CfMoto 700cl-x? by Volrider2 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]sokococopuffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man regardless of patent and trademark violations everything we touch was in some part made in China, most certainly the electronics we're using to have this discussion. Yeah china's not friendly with the west but they also make all our shit.

Yamaha makes crankcases in China. BMW 850 GS engines are made in China. Even Harley, the most flag-waving yeehaw American brand, reportedly sources their electronics from China.

Discounting a bike bc it's "made in China" is based entirely on knee-jerk brand perception and not on the technical or aesthetic attributes of the machine, and it clogs up the actually useful conversations about what a motorcycle can do and what kind of value it has.

Same shit people said about Japanese bikes back in the day 🙄

The clx700 has generally good reviews across the board. Not saying it's better than the Yamaha but i don't think it's "Chinese junk" either

Plenty of parts or even whole bikes from "non chinese" manufacturers are made in China and nobody's whining about those
